[snip]The two suited figures moved along C Deck looking like otherworldly beings. Two other engineering crewmen sprinted past them on their way somewhere.
“Did you get the laundry done?” Damian asked.
“No. I’m going to have to jettison what is there and find new in stores. We may have a skivvy shortage coming up.” Galen breathed out.
“Radiation levels increasing but still in safe margins. Laundry ahead. Bulkhead is likely keeping the .. bulk of it behind it.”
Galen hefted the tape roll. “Let’s mark it off before assessing decon protocols.”
They approached a corridor that looked like any other but for the sign defining ‘LAUNDRY’ outside of it. “Here we are. Scanning for safe perimeter.”

The scans showed the radiation tapered off to almost no noticeable levels about 5 feet down the corridor to either side of the laundry room doors. Inside the whole room was effectively contaminated with readings boarding near the danger levels without suits.

“Got readings starting here and about the same on the other side of the laundry,” Damian said. “Let’s give it another few feet anyway to be safe once we open the door. There might be some wash before we get in and start a decon.”
Galen marked out a couple more paces beyond where Damian was standing. He nearly ran into a crewman carrying a bundle of laundry in a duffel bag. Galen held up a gloved hand. “Radiation in the laundry. Washes canceled for now.” Then. “We’re in a critical situation level and you’re doing laundry?”
The crewman shrugged. “I’m auxiliary. Thought it would be a good time. Nobody about to compete with the machines.”
“You’re lucky. Your gear’s not in there. We likely have to jettison it all.”
“Right. Don’t need more glow in the dark things,” Damian said to spur them on. “Let’s go here. I hate these suits.”Galen taped off the corridor and marked it with a radiation sign. “Okay, let’s go in. I’ll crack the door and you confirm radiation levels. We’ll run a decon from the source out.”
“Ready,” Damian said, scanner at hand and ready as Galen worked to open the laundry door. “Opening here,” he said, trying the door.
- Galen and DamianOpening the door the laundry room seemed normal enough. Radiation levels were as stated earlier. Dangerous without suits but with the ones the two had on they were fine for now. Looking around they would find though nothing amiss other then the seeping radiation from outside the hull.

OOC: I am going to jump in here…but I am still kinda blind…so just work with me.
IC: Chief Engineer Bohannon was monitoring the radiation levels as the door opened. “It appears that radiation levels are acceptable at this time” said Bohannon. He waited for this engineering staff to comment further about this situation.

“I’ve got a bead on the center of this,” Damien said. “Right above laundry unit three there.” He pointed a gloved hand, scanner in the other.
“Levels?” asked Galen, wanting to confirm.
“They’re fine in the hallway,” Damien confirmed. “Chief, you’re good here but need a suit to be safe to come in.” He smiled which was lost in the suit. “Unless you have lead underwear chief.”
Galen moved inside with the decontamination unit and paused. “Chief, fighting a fire we go for the source. Do I work my way to the center of this or start there and work out?” He was poised to shoot at the source but wanted confirmation.
