The two suited figures moved along C Deck looking like otherworldly beings. Two other engineering crewmen sprinted past them on their way somewhere.

“Did you get the laundry done?” Damian asked.

“No. I’m going to have to jetison what is there and find new in stores. We may have a skivvie shortage coming up.” Galen breathed out.

“Radiation levels increasing but still in safe margins. Laundry ahead. Bulkhead is likely keeping the .. bulk of it behind it.”

Galen hefted the tape roll. “Let’s mark it off before assessing decon protocols.”

They approached a corridor that looked like any other but for the sign defining ‘LAUNDRY’ outside of it. “Here we are. Scanning for safe perimeter.”

The scans showed the radiation tapered off to almost no noticeable levels about 5 feet down the corridor to either side of the laundry room doors. Inside the whole room was effectively contaminated with readings boarding near the danger levels without suits.
