OOC: Small title adjustment just to bring it in line with the others!

Baumann looked at her and said “In that case… coffee to go and I will see what is happening on the bridge. Pull all the sensor logs and begin comparing them with the historical record. Make sure you that you compare to the Vulcan records we have as well. Call me if you find any similarities.” He poured a cup and placed the lid securely on the mug and made his way to the bridge.

Baumann, Intel

She nodded and curled her leg back under her as she turned to face her desk. “Yes, Sir…I’ll let you know soon as I have something.” She then began to make scans of the planet and surrounding area to see how they differed from last known readings and from records of Earth in the same time period. The fact he brought up Vulcan records surprised Liz. She hadn’t considered that. But then again, hadn’t Vulcans been watching Earth for a decades before they launched into the sky to hit warp?

She started making the comparisons, though she was shaking her head and murmuring. “It’s not Earth, so I don’t know why we have to do a comparison. Well, unless,” she started to work it out out loud, “unless those readings could give us a clue to how the planet came to be here. Perhaps this planet is warring far worse than we did and something they launched or uncovered caused the anomaly? Hmmm glad I’m not in Science right now, they are probably throwing a party at all the newness and excitement of this.” She laughed and went back to work trying to suss out how this planet and Earth compared. Maybe she could find a time when Earth was in a similar reading state and let Baumann know. She still wasn’t sure how it would help, though.

Sadly there were no records of this system on file. Earth Starfleet hadn’t been out this far yet so they were the first Earth ship to get out this way. Moreso in sadness was even the Vulcan database had nothing on the system they too had not gotten out here. In short no information on that front was available to be had.

But that said scans performed on the surrounding area were pretty run of the mill to be honest, barring the 4 some light year gravitic anomalies stranding them in this system now from the fourth planet that had somehow appeared out of nowhere in the opposite orbital plane from the third planet. The system was until the arrival of this fourth planet pretty boring really. Formerly three planets, the innermost a small mineral rich dead airless rock in space, the second a small miniature gas planet, and the third a small class-m oceanic world. And now the fourth slightly larger class-m world which was blowing themselves to hell and back.

Tapping into the information network of the planet, what remained of it at least was actually quite simple, the comm patterns actually weren’t too far off from their own interestingly! That wasn’t to say there weren’t differences, the response time was delayed of course, and the processing effort was below what the Bonaventure was capable of, but unless Liz missed her mark, it was almost as if someone had taken an Earth Starfleet ships comm system, one nearly like the Bonaventure’s own in technology level in fact, and then backwards engineered it to their own tech level on the planet.

Scoping out the planet on a tech level actually came up with some interesting things culturally. From looking at buildings a lot of them seemed to be strongly resembling Earth like building structures from the late 1920s-1960s in scope. This though was complicated by the fact then that she was finding evidence of technology much in advance of this, flying military and civilian drones, advanced air jet planes in combat, ballistic, laser, and plasma based weapon designs near to those used by Earth barely 15-30 odd years ago. She even was picking up evidence of automated robots and the like! There further was evidence that while the culture had land based cars, rail trains, and such equal in scope and styling oddly of Earth in the 1920s-1960s they equally had vehicles which could hover off the ground by anti-gravity like fields. It was.....confusing to say the least.

In short this was clearly not Earth, nor was it an Earth from say likely an alternate reality, the evidence of the aliens present, though human like in appearance showed that much. Finally there wasn’t any clear source of what was causing the gravitic anomalies stranding them here, while Liz could find evidence of technology that maybe could do this on a level of a few feet or so on the planet to effect a whole 4 light year radius seemed absurd to the capability of this planet, not to mention why they would do this or be able to sustain it in the middle of annihilating themselves.

Further information though was still to come in, but perhaps sharing her findings so far might not hurt with the bridge and her superiors.

She set the scans to begin looking for not just tech readings of anomalous nature, but also to start looking more closely for anything that they could have reverse engineered from. “If those aliens aren’t from this planet, and the tech if beyond their years,” she started setting up the scans, “then maybe ‘they’ crashed her as well and their tech was shared, or stolen, by the humans.” She also continued recording any transmissions she could find.

Sliding sideways to a free console, she tapped a query to the bridge for Baumann. Once there she gave her report. “So I’m still scanning, but so far, as you know, this planet doesn’t belong here. There is also a disconnect in the current timeline on the planet in regards to tech. The planet seems to be similar to Earth, from around 1920 to 1960. Oddly enough, there is a level of technology and weapons that is from Earth’s time around 15 to 30 years ago. Almost like they got a jump on it somehow. The aliens I’m still scanning. My guess is that it’s their tech the planet is using. Perhaps a gift, perhaps stolen. But it would explain the technology being out of line for the maturity of the humanoids.

I’m continuing to scan and try and locate the alien ships. Even if dormant, perhaps they can shed a light on how long the planet has been out of whack on timelines. I’ll let you know more as I figure it out. Anything from up there to add?” She wasn’t sure how much additional information he would have, but she had learned to ask.
