Dirty blonde hair pulled back in a twisted bun, and hazel eyes lined with khol. She stepped into Medical and looked around. Her uniform was neat, without being so perfect as to draw attention. Her nails were chewed short and her hands were lithe and small. Her body was lean and tight. She worked out to maintain it so she could crawl into tight places, work on things others couldn’t and keep the harassment down if anyone ever tried anything.
The chip on her shoulder was almost tangible as she looked around then asked the closest nurse who she was to check in with.
Lt JG Danora Allance
Eng/AI SpecialistThe nurse smiled apologetically “Chief Grey is the on duty, good luck” He said before moving on. The man he had pointed to was tall and thin with neatly combed blond hair. He had a young face but seemed at least over thirty years old. He was in deep conversation with a fellow doctor.
Dr. Grey - CMO
“Thank you,” she said. The ‘good luck’ comment made Dani frown but she took a couple steps towards Dr Grey to get his attention, then waited patiently with her hands clasped before her as she glanced around the medical bay.

Eng/AI SpecThe two doctors exchanged a few words until the woman nodded her head in the direction of the Engineer. The tall man turned around and examined his latest patient “Can I help you” He said in a quiet voice, he put on a polite smile but it seemed to be just that, polite. His accent was a soft Scottish with a hint of something else.

“Lt JG Allance reporting for my boarding physical. I can come back if now is not a good time, Sir.” She was polite and nodded her head with respect to the pair.

Eng/AI SpecJack shook his head, lifted a hand towards a nearby biobed and inclined his head “No time like the present” He walked with the woman to the bed “I’m certain you’d like to have this done with” A slight shade of humour in his voice. He grabbed the tricorder from his belt and removed the wand “please have a seat”
Dr. Grey - CMO
Soon as he pulled up her medical file, the following would appear…
Medical
Usual childhood illnesses
Broken wrist first year in Academy, hand to hand training accident (Healed, no further issues)
Plasma burned arms on the platform, engineering accident (scar tissue along both upper arms from shoulder to elbow. Regen on lower arms for looks, occasional stiffness. Consistent exercises and occasional pain meds for extreme pain. No med addiction.)
- “Once or twice,” she laughed and moved to sit on the given bed. She was in a short sleeve uniform tunic top and the scars showed a bit under the edge between the shirt and elbow. “So how do you like serving on the Memorial? Anything I should be leery about?” She smiled and sat still while he did his exam.
Danora
Eng/AI SpecJack didn’t say anything until he finished his scans “It’s a perfectly adequate ship, I have no complaints” He said as he put the tricorder back in his holster “The crew is not overly accident-prone and the Captain is cautious but not overly so. For personal relations you’d have to ask” He paused for a moment “A people person” He said simply and then blinked for the first time in a noticeable while.

Danora smiled. “A Doctor who isn’t a people person? I find that a little hard to believe. Though I guessing you say that to keep the women off so you don’t have to beat them with a stick.” She laughed. “Hard to chase them off if they come back to medical cause they were hit.”
Danora
Eng/AI SpecJack blinked at the woman’s comment, he seemed a bit perplexed by her answer for a moment, just a brief moment before he regained his composure “That has not been an issue so far” He said calmly as he finished his scan, placing the wand in its holster. Then he allowed himself a brief smile, not the same polite one as before but one of amusement “I think you’ll find that many doctors are not for social interactions, especially surgeons, or former Science Chiefs.”
Dr. Grey - CMO
Her hands moved from her lap where she had then resting on her thighs during the scan, to hold loosely to the edge of the biobed. “Pity. It seems with the training on experiences you have had, people would want to speak more to you. I mean, I’m sure you have insights to things that nearly every department could benefit from. Right? From science in how you have seen viruses, sicknesses and various species’ biologies, to security in the vein of various species you have encountered and how different scenarios and missions have affected parts of the ship that medical versus security may deal with in the moment and aftermath.” She tilted her head slightly. “Even engineering in the way you use your instruments and the carious systems on the ship to help with not just diagnostics but treatment, life support, etcetera. Or is because of those reasons that you tend to not be very social? Because you are swamped with folks wanting to discuss this or that with you?”

Jack was a little taken aback by her sudden torrent of speech and a rather odd train of thought. After she finished he didn’t take too long to gather a response “No, I have a low EQ and am thus unable to form connections with people easily” He said simply. He tapped the biobeds computer panel a few times, comparing the scan to her medical file “I learned early on that people don’t enjoy being corrected or outshined by someone far smarter than them, it’s why I joined the fleet, people here are on average smarter than most, I find more stimulating conversations with a Security Crewman than I do someone from back home. People also don’t like overachievers, I was made department head straight out of the Academy like many others, then I became a Medical doctor and became a department head again because I am simply that good” He spoke matter-of-factly but not without ego “Also the last new person I tried to converse with shot one of my staff and I take that sort of personally.”
