Zero was in the fire controls center of the vessel. He was working on the torpedo tube 2 it was out of alignment again “this is twice now” he said as he grabbed his tool box and went down the ladder to the Maintenance hatch and crawled inside.

Zoz floated into the room. S/he was looking for the CTO and was rather surprised to find him apparently repairing a torpedo tube.
“Lt. Zero? Do you have the proper certification and clearance to be tampering with repairs to the weapons systems?”, Zoz was fairly certain that tactical officers fired weapons and handled communications. As well as day to day ship operations. “I will need to verify that. However I came to speak with you formally about a differrent matter in regards to Starfleet traditions and customs.”, s/he continued in a serious tone.

Zero pulled himself out of the maintenance area “ I actually asked Chief tactical officer I am in charge keep all the weapons on the ship at tiptop shape must’ve the ships they served on as a tactical officer or a security are usually was able to work on the weapons myself and I always do a really good job my second background was that of an engineer. So I am more than qualified to do minor maintenance on the ship” zero grabbed a rag from his toolbox and wiped the oil from his hands “ So what did you need“

Zoz would have to verify the Chief Tactical officers statement. S/he was a bit confused about the CTO saying he asked the CTO as this implied there were two CTO and there wasn’t. Unless s/he thought it was possible this wasa rare instance of the CTO having multiple brains each with it’s own personality as was the case for h/erm own species. This seemed unlikely though as the cranial construct of the CTO did not seem large enough to house such a brain structure. It was a interesting idea and s/he noted the posability on her four padds. “I will verify your Statement Sir.”, h/erm dominant personality said in a neutral tone. “As I have been tasked with the duty of Acting Chief of Security by the Captain it is my obligation to proceed with the formality of relieving you of the duty of Acting Chief of Security. Thank you Liutenent for your service as Acting Chief of Security, your watch is over .You are relieved.”, it was delivered verbatum from a entertainment s/he had watched in the voice of the actor who had spoken the lines , which in this case had been John Wayne. S/he held out a tenticle to the Chief Tacticle officer to shake.

Zero took the tentacle and shake it as if it was a hand “if you need any help let me know” then the CTO turned to the engineer “ tube 2 is out of alignment I have narrow down the problem to the stem bolts in zone 55.765 and 996.876” he held up one of the bolts he pulled “ they are not the right ones this system needs 45’09 type stem bolts they put it 49’99 they are lucky the Torpedoes didn’t Nick the bolt and blew up half way down the tube. Any way the bigger bolts were too big so of course they pushed against the surroundings and Wala the tubes not aligned properl

Zoz blinked, was the handshake enough? It did not really conform to the tradition as s/he had seen it enacted as the CTO hzd not technically passed the duty on for ormally. This was a bit of a pet peeve for Zoz as Argozonite society was very structured and getting social formalities correct was a indication of being properly civilized. That some species were less prone to use formalities was hard to swallow. Zoz dismissed it as requiring more thought before s/he let hermself get into a huff about it. She offered a tenticle to the Cheif Engineer. “Greetings again Lt. Sivith Ch’Shriaqes. It is pleasent to encounter you again. To prevent confusion in future may I ask for a list of personel qualified to enact repairs in restricted or normally secured areas of the ship?”, h/erm various thought streams imediately started chastising h/erm about potential implications of impropriorty and the contrasting opinions left her confused as to how to proceed.

Zero looked at zoz “ ok ensign I am going to let you in on some thing ok never come into an other department head area and Question them on how they run there department it could be seen as disrespectful. Is this understood Ensign” he said with authority and a Firm cold stare.

Zoz wasvery confused by this response.”You seem confused. Operations has no department sir. It doesn’t even have a office. I found you performing a engineering task in a location that is restricted. So I did what I was trained to do when I find people doing things they are not supposed to be doing in places they are not supposed to be. Now since you are no longer needed here and a qualified Engineer is present you will leave or I will put you in the brig for suspicious behavior. You might still end up there if the Chief Engineer discovers any signs of sabatage or ill intent. I did not join security to be popular sir. I joined to do the assigned task of security. To keep the ship and it’s personel safe.”, Zoz of course was not about to take any chances so she unlimbered her phaser. She did not point it at anyone but it was ready for action. This would not be the best location to use it though. She was starting to really distrust the CTO there was something very strange about him.

Sivith shook the tentacle. “Glad to see you again as well.” He then turned to the CTO. “Ok Chief. That sounds like a good reason but do you mind if I take a look? I am glad that you know about such things but since you’re not an engineer either now or anymore, I can’t let you work on this.”

He turned back to Zoz. “I am afraid I just can’t give out my roster to you without a cause. Only the Captain, XO and the CTO can request that Ensign. But kudos on trying to be proactive.”

He then addressed everyone. “Perhaps there is a mixup in writing somewhere. “Cheif. The Ensign here really did not mean any disrespect. I talked with him or her earlier so I got his or her impression of the way he or she does things. She or he is very by the book and knows just about all the regs by memory. Ensign Zoz I hope you don’t feel offended by me saying he or she because I don’t know what you are. I know your species because you told me but I do not know how to address you still in other matters.”

He looked back at the CTO. “Chief. When I can aboard Ensign Zoz did exactly to me that he or she is doing to you. I believe that there is no disrespect intended but you are still free to file a report based on what made you..... how do humans say.. ah. On what made you butthurt and your ego break. I will of course write my own report of the situation as well.” He smiled

Ooc: A couple of notes. This is roleplay not a personal attack. Zoz is about as alien as you can get. Zoz does not understand social nicities so can seem rude without intending to be. Secondly The Armory is Securities domain. It is part of the security complex that includes offices, a break room, the brig, the armory and a monitoring and dispatch center. These are not all located in one spot but are scattered around the ship. Torpedos and phasers are in banks in dedicated rooms usually 2 to a room. These rooms are guarded at all times and unless you are authorised to be there you do not get in. Operations, tactical and communications are the job of tactical. Their workspace is on the bridge at the tactical station. Random officers do not wander about fixing things without getting permission from the Chief Engineer. We see this on every one of the shows.
Anyways If you want to go to the exec with a complaint that is your right. More roleplay so all good. I am being nice in reality because I ought to toss you in the brig for being in a restricted area without permission. Sorry thats so long but needed saying.

Zoz was glad to have the CE there as support. The question of how to apply a gender definition to h/ermself was a unique concept as Argozonites had no gender terminology as part of polite discourse. But most humanoids were bigendered if not trigendered. So obviously they would be in need of a term to remain comfortable. Zoz had relegated this line of thought to a secondary personality so that her primary focus remained on Lt. Zero.
“It is true that you outrank me. But as this is a security matter and you are at fault for a breech of regulations Position must trump rank. I am the Chief of Security. In matters of ships security you will follow my instructions. This is how the chain of command works. You have been asked to leave. My next step under regulations is to call in more security and have you removed. Or if forced to it to incapsitate you and have you removed. In defferance to your rank I will allow you to walk out right now.”, and Zoz pointed at the door with several otherwise unoccupied tenticles.
The eye facing the CE blinked at the CE and a softer almost shy voice spoke to the the Andorian, “It is a question that withing the language constructs used in the Federation is hard to resolve. For most species the state of being both equally functional genders is a abberation which colors the terminology used in negative undesirable meanings. So far the assembly has no responce to this. But it seems best to myself that you simply refer to me as Zoz when you feel a gender definition is required.”, the two voices spoke at the same time but like ventriliquism of a sort the voices were thrown so that the intended recipient could clearly hear what was said.

Now back to Weapons of the vessel I am allowed to work on them and maintain them and I will ask for engineering help if I feel like I need help.

CE I am sorry you had to see that I know she was a new player or her character was very new but she was being disrespectful to me in my department and the CO did tell her. But I do hope she will come back to the ship cuz I did work security when I started I worked on ship with and with out a CTO so yes I had to learn were the CTO departments is. Please note I will never do anything to harm this vessel or the crew on board. Now back to the role play.
