Lari smiled as she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “That sounds like a great idea,” she said as she studied her companion. She was finding it a bit hard to get a read on him, he seemed like a lovely chap but she wondered what he was really like behind the science officer. She sipped her drink again and sat back in her chair. “So tell me
Fil, what do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies or anything?” she asked curiously.

“I like to read a lot in my spare time. But sometimes I go to the holodeck and work out.” Fil said and remembering the time he had a great work out. “What about you my friend....I mean Dr. Naktal…uh.... Lari. What do you do in your spare time.”

Lari smiled warmly and gently put her hand on his arm. “It’s ok Fil, you don’t need to be so nervous,” she replied. “I actually love to sing in my spare time, my father was a performer so I think I inherited a bit from him,” she added as her thoughts turned to home for a moment. “But I’ve been meaning to get into shape again, perhaps you could show me one of your workouts some time?” she asked hopefully.

“Sure, We can work out together. It’s not too strenuous.” Fil sounded happy that he met someone who shared his hobby. ” But remember, you can call me Penji. Let me know when you want to work out with me.”

Lari smiled warmly and took another sip of coffee. “Well I’m free now Penji?” she offered with a raised eyebrow. “I could meet you in my workout gear in 30 minutes, unless you have somewhere else you need to be?” she added, downing the last sip of coffee from her mug.

“I’m free too Lari, give me 30 minutes and I’ll meet you at the gym.” Fil said with a note of confidence. Fil then left 2 forward and went to his room. Fil wondered what to wear to impress his friend Lari.

Lari grinned as she stood. “Great! I’ll see you shortly,” she replied, wiping her mouth with a napkin. As Fil left she watched him curiously. She still wasn’t sure what to make of him but she was looking forward to getting to know him better. As she left the lounge she thanked the waiter and headed to her quarters to change.

Ens. Fil arrived early at the gym. He started stretching a bit to warm up. “I hope I don’t do anything foolish in front of Lari.” Fil said as he waited for Lari to arrive, while he warmed up.

Having changed into 3 different workout outfits, Lari finally settled on a black tank top with a grey t-shirt over and a pair of black yoga pants. She was still a little nervous about what to expect as she didn’t really know Fil that well yet, for all she knew he could be super fit and hard to keep up with but then she wasn’t exactly out of shape herself. She quickly made her way to the gym, not wanting to be late. When she arrived she saw that Fil was already there and warming up. She took a mat next to him and smiled as she began to stretch as well. “You’re keen…” she chuckled as she stretched out her calf. “You will take it easy on me won’t you Penji? Just remember, I’m a girl!” she giggled.

“Don’t worry Lari, I won’t forget.” Penji said wearing black tights and a blue muscle shirt. “You look nice, Lari.” Penji said as he became a little embarressed. “OK let’s get started. What do you suggest we do first?”

Lari smiled as she stretched her arms out. “I’m in your capable hands Penji, I’ll follow your lead,” she added with a giggle as she jumped up and down a few times to warm her legs up.

Fil was thinking to himself {I’m going to impress Lari with some moves I know…}

Lari wondered what kind of workout was in store for her, she hoped it wasn’t anything to strenuous. Doing one final stretch she quickly bunched up her long blonde hair and tied it into a bun to keep it out of the way.

“OK Lari, let’s do some calistethics ” Fil said. He started to jump and kick (as Lari watched). Unfortunately, as Penji did a tough kick, he landed wrong and collapsed on the mat. “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW” Fil shouted as he held his left lower leg. “I think I broke something Lari. Help!”

Lari gasped as she heard the crack and rushed over to Fil’s side, gently laying him down and supporting his leg. “It’s ok, I’ve got you Penji,” she said softly, “just try and relax…” she added as she very carefully rested his leg on a soft mat on the floor then dashed to her bag and grabbed the med kit that she always carried with her.

She knelt beside him and put a gentle reassuring hand on his shoulder whilst she got out her medical tricorder. “How are you doing Penji?” She asked as she flipped open the tricorder and scanned his leg.

(OOC: I’m assuming it’s broken but just pop the scan results here)

IC: Lari quickly took out a hypospray and loaded it with a hefty dose of Terakine. “This will help with the pain but we need to get you to sickbay,” she said sympathetically as she gently pressed the hypospray to his neck and administered the painkiller. She waited for the medication to kick in and gently brushed a lock of hair from his forehead. “Is that feeling a bit better?” She asked, wondering how she was going to get him back to sickbay.

“I’m feeling a little better. I’m sorry Lari, I was trying to impress you, but I should have realized that I couldn’t do that move.” Penji said feeling the pain in the leg subsiding a little. “Good thing you were here to help. I don’t know what I would have done, had you not been here. But then again I wouldn’t have done that reckless move. Well, I think we should get me to sick bay.”

Lari nodded. “I think that would be a good idea and don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you were trying to impress me!” She said softly as she checked his vitals.

“You’re an angel, Lari. I’ll never forget this. Remind me not to do that again. I feel silly about this.” Penji said as he tried to relax. “What can I do to repay you?”

Lari gave him a sympathetic smile. “You don’t need to repay me Penji, let’s just get you fixed up,” she added as she gathered her kit up. Slinging her bag on her shoulder she knelt down beside him and put a hand on his arm. “I don’t think I can carry you though and I don’t want you to move that leg so I think the transporter would be best,” she concluded as she tapped her comm badge.
