Humming to herself, Lissan read over the notes of her previous patient. Satisfied with the efficiency of the last exam, she happily signed the officer off as cleared for duty. Of all the personalities she had encountered, she wasn’t yet sure which of them she found the most intriguing. Perhaps this final eval would prove to be the answer. Taking a sip of her tea, the only substance she found worthy of drinking, she tapped her badge.

“Reporting as ordered Counselor.” Fil said as he entered the CSN office.

=^=”Dr. Lissan, This is ens. Fil, I’m waiting for you in your office=^=” Fil said into his communicator.

Lissan rose to her feet, crossing the room as to open the door. “Ensign, you don’t have to comm me.” She smiled, “Just tap the chime, I’ll.. sense you.” The irony in mentioning the word hear amused her, but she didn’t pursue the entertainment.

“I’m sorry Dr.,” Fil said as they both met each other. “I guess I’m a little nervous. So what do you need of me.”

“Dr., what is a psych evaluation? I thought I did that at the academy.” Penji said as he sat in a chair by the doctor’s desk.

“It is a simple exam to see how you are doing mentally. Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. My job is to make sure you’re doing well.” She explained, taking a seat across from him. “Yes, but you also complete them on every starship you are assigned to, at least once a year. Does this make sense?”

“I think so…”, the science officer said. He was prepared for the exam. “What do I have to do?”

“Tell me about yourself. About your experiences– why you chose Starfleet.. whatever you’d like me to know.”

Dr. Lissan

“Well Dr.,” Fil started to say, “when I was growing up on Catulla, I always looked at the stars. I always wanted to go to different worlds. I went to school for science, then when I had a chance to go to the Star Fleet Academy, I jumped at the chance. I’m not a explorer but I like the scientific aspects of meeting new people. I guess, since I was a lonely child, I made a lot of friends, but I think I had to find friends on other planets. I’m a good science officer, but being on a big ship like the Memorial, is…a little over-whelming. I like to be involved in the way things run on the ship. So, I’m always ready to go volunteer on a away mission.”

“Any thing else you need to know doctor?” Fil asked Dr. Lissan

“You mentioned being on the Memorial to be ‘overwhelming.’ Could you expand a bit more on why you feel that way?”

“The ship is a lot bigger than I imagined. I…feel intimidated by all the people here. Like I said before, I’m used to being alone.”

“Learning things at the academy is a lot different then learning the same things on the ship. I had my classmates to help me with my studies, but on the ship, I had to do things myself. It’s just a little harder for me to understand the routine.”
