Almost there, just a few more evaluations and she could call it a day. Lissan adored people, in fact she found great joy in listening to their stories. But this, on its own, was beginning to weigh down on her mental energy. Knowing better than to pray for an easy patient, Lissan rose her hand back to that badge. A hand that had grown sore from jotting down notes and contacting victims of psychology.=^=Lissan to Dr. Lox, do you have a few seconds for a psychological evaluation?=^=
Dr. Lissan
CNS“Just keep to the routine I recommended, and you shouldn’t have any troubles in that … department,” Taniel said, not wanting to go into more detail about the poor Bolian’s medical complaint. “And come back in a week; we’ll see how things are working out.”
“Thank you, doctor.” The Bolian looked relieved, though less embarressed than he did when he had first enetered one of of the consulting rooms to talk about his particular problem.
As the Bolian lieutenant left, Lox’s commbadge chirped.
=^=Lissan to Dr. Lox, do you have a few seconds for a psychological evaluation?=^=
Taniel groaned, as he stepped out into Sickbay. “The last thing I need,” he said to himself.
“Something wrong, doctor?” Lea, one of the nurses spoke up.
Lox finished tapping at his PaDD, inputting the consultation into the patient’s file, before tossing it on a work station, leaning against it and scowling. “Psych evaluation. Not a fan.”
“Ah yes; I heard we have our new Counsellor aboard. Heard she has quite the backlog, poor woman.”
“What do we know about her?” He asked.
Lea grabbed the PaDD, inputted her own details, and brought up the crew listing. “Counsellor Lissan Zenobia … interesting; she’s half Andorian and half Aenar.”
Aenar? “Well that counts me right out.” He said.
Lea raised a brow. “You can’t skip your psych evaluation, Taniel. Chief’ll be on your back and you might get pulled from duty.”
The Betazoid gave her a smile. “Not if I’m clever enough.” He tapped his commbadge. =^=Lox to Lissan. Acknowledged, Counsellor. I will try and be there as soon as I am free. Sickbay is rather busy at the moment, so I can’t just leave until another duty doctor arrives. I’ll check in with you as soon as possible. =^=
=^=Lissan to Lox, that is not a problem. Your patients bear greater significance than this exam. Although, I should hope you’ll be free before the end of the day; I doubt you’d be pleased by the mess of things, tomorrow. Good luck, Doctor.=^=
He glanced to Lea. “I have a feeling I am going to be particularly busy for some time.”
The nurse shook her head. “You’re asking for a world of trouble, doctor.”
Taniel shrugged. He was going to do everything he could not to be in a room with a powerful telepath … he made a point not to interect with any telepathic species, consistently handing over such patients to other doctors; especially Betazoids.
“Now,” he said, cheerfully. “Who is our next patient?”

MedLissan would be a fool to say she was surprised by the doctor’s resistance to the exam. It was not uncommon knowledge that medical professionals were amongst the worst of patients. Although, his disdain had her questioning whether or not there was a deeper reasoning behind his reluctance, beyond the excuse he chose to play. Intrigued, but not exactly the kind to make a scene, Lissan took a look over his file, just in case there was anything to be noted that could help her make this more comfortable for the Doctor.

Ensign Lox’s exit evaluation had been transmitted prior to his arrival aboard the Memorial. It read:
Psychological Report
Lieutenant Commander Dale Tench, Assistant Ship’s Counsellor, USS Asclepius
Taniel was first referred to me by Commander Milar, the Ship’s Counsellor and my immediate superior. It had become quickly apparent that Taniel would respond better to a Counsellor who was not also a Betazoid, which we can confidently assume is due to the impairment of some of his mental abilities, due to an undeveloped paracortex and low levels of psilosynine in his neurological makeup.
I am not the first psychologist that Doctor Lox has seen; in fact he has been having ongoing therapy both from the beginning of his career in Starfleet and even as a developing adolescent on Betazed.
The reason for this ongoing treatment is primarily anger management issues, stemming from the experiences he had as a child, growing up on a world full of telepaths, without himself having that ability (although it should be noted that he does possess some small ability of an empath). His issues manifests itself in short, but quite strong, bursts of anger which therapy has managed to help him successfully contain, though not deal with completely.
It should be noted that Doctor Lox will do everything in his power to avoid appointments, and though I do not believe in ‘getting anyone into trouble’ there have been times when he has had to be ordered to participate in his prescribed plan.
It is the recommendation of this psychologist that Taniel Lox continues to meet with a Counsellor whichever ship he is assigned to. Though he might not necessarily need weekly appointments, I recommend regular check-ins to ensure that he continues to function well as a part of the crew.
