Okay, I am working behind the scenes to find a solution to our problem of not having a GM, CO, CNS, CSO and CMO. Because there are so few of us who post on a regular basis, what do you all think of the idea of us being absorbed by another ship? We would simply take our characters (all of us) to another ship, where there is a full roster, including a GM. We aren’t having much fun on the Memorial and haven’t had for quite some time, so this is one of the solutions I’ve come up with. I would like your honest opinions on this. You need to keep in mind that there is a GM shortage and we don’t know when we might get one. The ship I have contacted about this is the Athena. Her CO is Tony Findora and most of her positions are filled. I’m willing to give up my XO spot if need be—I just want to write. I need real feedback here. If you are for it, tell me why and if you are not for it, I want to know your reasons for that too.

Thank you for letting us know about your plans, but you didn’t comment on the question posed. You introducing more non rostered characters doesn’t help the problems the Memorial is dealing with. Please tell us how you feel about merging with the Athena.

Whatever works for me. Honestly, if we were to merge with another vessel that has a GM wouldn’t be too bad. But I know for a fact that on another vessel on the AA I believe would be up for more members. Lot of JO positions and Civilian positions.

I hear what you’re saying. Aren’t YOU the CO of the AA? There are reasons I have been talking with the Athena instead of other ships, so please let’s just consider that ship for now.

Thank you, Chris. Also, I just looked at the AA roster and you have 22 characters rostered. The Athena only has 12.

OOC: I think moving to the Athena, a ship that does have a GM could be a good idea providing we all go there, It will be good to go back to the ship i was once CO of :-)

It really bothers me that this thread has so little comments on it. The question posed is vitally important to the life of the ship. I thank Chris and Chris for sounding off with their opinion. I am still waiting for Charles to weigh in with his decision. I don’t know if Rusty is still interested in playing with us or not and Isaac is AWOL 22 days. Since the pilots only post about once a month, I guess Charles and Rusty are the only two I’m waiting for. I’ll give it another couple of days. Everyone feel free to post again if you like, on any aspect of the proposal or anything else that’s on your mind.

I agree. It is sad to lose the Memorial, but we have been dying a slow death for months with the lack of resources that are available.

That I do sadly have too agree. If only if the ship was able to go as strong it would stay. We’ve decommissioned so many vessels over the past couple of months it’s hard to see this ship go.

As long as I can continue to play my pilot, I’m good where ever. If it is best to merge with the Athena then, that should be what we do. I hate to see the Memorial be decommissioned but sometimes less is more. So I will be willing to move if that is what is decided.

The Athena doesn’t have an air unit. If you decided to come you would have to play some other kind of JO.

I however, may go back over there as a JO, but with how busy as I am as being CO on another character, being fleet council officer, engineering director and part of the community marketing management board, I would be there if possible, but also might step down from being a JO, as I am busy as is.

I just want to chime in here both as the designated Fleet Command Council Officer and the CO of Athena.

This is an unfortunate time. Without a CO and GM, it makes resolving ship issues much harder. If decommissioning the ship is what we want to do here, Athena is willing to take on JOs.

Now the Athena does not have a fighter wing. For the pilots, I’m willing to personally see if you want to transfer to a different ship if you want to play those characters still.

Whatever i can do to address or respond to anyone, I will do.

I already have a character on Athena (currently lost on a planet lmao), but I don’t mind if Tath moves to Athena as well, yes, I want to continue writing with y’all.

I am not good playing as medical staff will keep writing as my other characters mainly Engineering

I might end up mainly focusing on two vessels and my heavy workload. But that’s about all I have time for, really. So I might end up stepping down from here, though. I might even put Sara on the Ark Angel to help fill the Junior Officer positions. But I’ll stay here till the decision has been made.

I wouldn’t mind decommissioning the Memorial. I know for me its been hard to post. I’d love to see my character as a swing position on the Athena. Id love to see where this takes us.

I’m in agreement with the majority here - I hate to see this ship fade with how many we’ve already lost, but she’s been dying slowly. I think the merge w/ Athena is probably in the best interests of the group.
