Major Vektul came to a halt before the door marked Cmdr. Qyra Nyx – Executive Officer.

He stood for a moment in the corridor, arms behind his back, boots evenly planted. His eyes moved across the frame of the door, then to the corridor junction behind him—as though confirming his bearings.

Apparently satisfied, he stepped forward and pressed the door chime.

And waited. Silent. Still. Unhurried.

Qyra didn’t look up from the PaDD that held her attention. She was reworking three different rosters of duty assignments for the ship. “Come.” It was only when the visitor approached where she sat behind the desk that her gaze flickered up to acknowledge them.

She leaned back in her chair then, taking in the sight of the officer, giving him the once over that everyone she met had to endure. She was a warrior after all, a successful one, and that meant sizing up your opponent.

Interestingly enough, Qyra believed the Romulan was doing a bit of sizing her up, himself.

“Yes?” she asked.

OOC: I can’t remember how we decided to handle Vektul becoming Chief Engineer, since it happened during the main Sim. So, I guess we play this after the Main Sim?

IC: Vektul advanced with practiced economy—three steps forward, then to attention.

“Major Vektul, reporting as Acting Chief Engineer,” he said, voice low and deliberate. “Following the death of Lieutenant Commander Karesh during the Chronos engagement, I assumed command of Engineering under emergency protocol.”

He paused—just long enough to show deference, not hesitation.

“I am aware the position is pending formal reassignment. I am not here to petition, Commander. Only to confirm my status and receive your expectations moving forward.”

His expression remained unreadable, but his posture was perfect—shoulders square, chin slightly inclined, hands clasped neatly behind his back.
