One of the squadrons took the bait, moving away from the Memorial to pursue the fighters. Ben and Emberlee managed to get a few good shots off, destroying on of the fighters and damaging another.
However, two enemy fighters managed to get behind them, and started firing their phasers.
GM
=^=Park to Firefly we have two bogies on our 6. Taking evasive action Gamma 3=^= =^= Park to Emberlee shut your engines off and nose down and they’ll fly right by us.=^=
Park
Emberlee reacted quickly and shut down her engines and killed the cockpit lights and hoped that Ben was correct in this manuver =^=Park, I hope you’re right about this.=^=. She said as she watched the situation go down. She had her finger on the reignite code so that they could get back in the fight as soon as the bogeys had flown by. She was quickly going through her head the different things that could be tried. For now she waited somewhat impatiently.
Atkins
Fortunately for both Park and Atkins, the manoeuvre worked, and the two fighters flew straight past them, allowing for the computer systems to gain a decent target lock.
GM
Unsurprisingly, Ben flicked on his engines and proceeded behind them. Following their every move. Ben activating his torpedo launcher and fired upon the enemy ship that was closest proximity to his fighter.
Park
Emberlee followed suit and gained the lock on the other fighter and let loose a torpedo =^= Firefly…you good?=^= She asked through their comms link as she continued to scan the area around them for additional bogeys.
Atkins
“Affirmative, Atkins,” the CAG confirmed. “Angel, Coffin, help draw some fire off Park and Atkins. Keep their focus off Memorial. George, take your squadron and make a run for their flight deck. I’ll help screen those torpedoes they keep sending our way.”
=/\=”Roger,” =/\= replied George, and Bravo Squadron began forming into a variant on the flying wedge as they accelerated towards the Excalibur.

Commander, Air Group(Also Captain (Marine) Tim “George” Lewis; Commander, Bravo Squadron)
Moments later, some of the pockets of space-time continuum disturbances shimmered. As it intensified, a fighter appeared out of one of them, followed by a second, and a third. Seconds later another dozen fighters had appeared, and moved into a formation to support the fighter squadrons from them Excalibur.
GM
Alarms from sensors were going off in Ben’s cockpit =^= Attention all squadron multiple bogeys are inbound, recommend we form up altogether and go on the offensive=^=
Park
Firefly’s comms crackled with a call from the ship. =^=Firefly, this is McCleary, get your bids back on board. We’re going to make a run for it and get back on the other side of that rip in space.=^=
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS Memorial=/\=”Wilco, Memorial,” Firefly agreed. =/\= “All squadrons, all squadrons, break off and go home. I say again, go home.”
Lieutenant Colonel John “Firefly” Arlen
Commander, Air GroupEmberlee heard the order and broke off and headed back to the Memorial, trying to keep track of her wingman and make sure that they could make a fighting withdrawal, the fact that they now had more than a dozen bogeys from somewhere else in space was unsettling.
Atkins
(OOC: Any more posts in space above this line)
Thunk. Firefly’s Cutlass hit the deck in the now crowded bay, half a second behind the hastily recalled Bravo Squadron. Landings that didn’t jolt the pilot were all well and good on standard patrols, but standard was hardly the right word for this situation. Somewhere in the mess of birds pointed all sorts of angles and with only centimeters of clearance between them were his new pilots - he’d have to check up on them later - but for now, his Wing’s first major combat landing aboard Memorial was safely complete.
=^=Firefly, McCleary again. We may have just jumped back to our universe. . . .or maybe somewhere else altogether. No confirmation on where we are. Please tell me all the birds made it back on board before we jumped.=^=
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS Memorial=/\= “That’s affirmative, McCleary,” Firefly reported. “Switching over to internal ship comms.” =/\= With that, he thumbed the switch to open up the cockpit, tearing off the helmet of his flight suit as soon as his HUD confirmed atmosphere in the bay was normal. “Alright people! Let’s move! Engineers run checks, only make repairs you can complete quickly. Anything bigger, either leave it be or ground the Cutlass. Stock torpedoes anywhere they’re used up. Pilots, ready room. Let’s chat.”
