“I’m glad to hear you’re ok from what looked like a malfunction in the turbolift. Remind me to get that looked at later” Cain replied.
Lieutenant Commander Lucas “Markiplier” Hall Angel
Chief Science Officer
USS MemorialSuddenly a point of light shot out of the Excalibur’s torpedo tubes. However, rather than heading towards the Memorial or one of its fighters, it shot passed them and entered one of the space distortions, disappearing from view.
GM
Cain jumped out of his chair and calmly asked, “What happened, was that a torpedo from the Excalibur?” Cain was trying to fathom what the Goodspeed from this universe would do next.
Nightroad, CO
“Sir with what I have gotten out of the sensor scans it must’ve been that torpedo from the Excalibur. Though, I do not know how or what or even why just yet.” He said looking at the captain.
Lieutenant Commander Lucas “Markiplier” Hall Angel
Chief Science Officer
USS MemorialSol’lin reviewed what brief information was gathered about the torpedo, it’s trajectory, and what was picked up via passive scans.
“The torpedo’s flight path suggested the Excalibur intended it to enter the space distortions. Passive scans suggest it was not armed. If I may make a conjecture, Captain, the torpedo casing may have been housing a probe.”
Ens. Sol’lin, Communication Officer
Tolly turned to Captain Nightroad. “Sir, should I recall our fighters?”
LtCmrd John Tolly
Chief of Operation/Second officer
OOC: I know Jack is writing on the Excalibur thread and you can read it but on the Memorial your characters has no clue what that was and need to analyze and let the GM answer your analysis.
Nightroad, CO
OOC: I think this is one of those times that good RP’ing outweighs being purist. I thought it was great that someone brought information from another thread into this - GMs tend to leave clues littered around, and being able to pick up on them and act on them really helps keep the thread going. I’d encourage everyone to read all of the posts to spot these clues.
For the time being, I’m happy that this post is entirely valid and doesn’t warrant any voiding… carry on!

GM
McCleary’s voice came over the shipboard comms. =^=Captain, I got all I’m going to get out of Arkis for the time being. She’s going into surgery. My opinion is to call back the fighters and make a run for that space/time rip. Maybe the other Memorial will come back to this universe as we get back to ours. Then launch torpedoes, phasers, and anything else we’ve got to keep anybody else from coming through or close it up. I’m on my way back to the bridge.=^=
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS MemorialMoments later the deck shook violently as the Excalibur opened fire on the Memorial.
OOC: Including the latest post.
Rado spoke up. “Sir, they’re firing weapons at us. Shall I, uh, respond in kind?”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security“Not yet, Mr. Rado.” Cain replied, ” Be ready, but we will not be the aggressor here.” After a moment Cain said, “Sol’lin, open a channel to the Excalibur.” and hoped there would be a peaceful way out of this
Nightroad, CO
“Aye, sir,” Sol’lin replied, as he attempted to establish contact with the Excalibur.
Ens. Sol’lin, Communication Officer
A disjointed voice came out of the speakers on the bridge; apparently the Excalibur wasn’t going to show video.
“Surrendering already, Nightroad?” The voice goaded.
GM
Suddenly an EPS conduit under the bridge deck started to overload, emitting a loud whine, before the deck plate started to buckle. Nightroad was quick enough on his feet to move away, but Ravenfall was not. The conduit house finally gave way, and the explosion ripped through the deck plate. Ravenfall was thrown across the bridge, the bones in both of her legs shattered, requiring immediate medical attention.
Nightroad got off a bit lighter, but the force caused his head to impact on a console, knocking him out.
There were now two senior officers on the bridge. Lt Cdr Tolly and Lt Cdr Angel.
GM
Rado, too, had been knocked a couple of feet from the COS station. Unlike his commanding officers, he seemed to fine, thank the Prophets.
Upon seeing the explosion’s aftermath, Feeling a sense of rage that he hadn’t felt sense the Cardassian occupation, “I’m going send these Pah-Wraiths back to the Fire Caves!” He growled, returning to the COS station. After preparing the photon torpedoes and targeting several key positions of the enemy ship, he looked to Lt Cdr Tolly and said, “On your command, sir.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of SecuritySol’lin stood up from the ground quickly. He tried his best to assess the situation through blurred vision. He felt blood dripping for his temple. It must have caught the edge of his console on the way down. The palms of his hand were marked with green blisters from the feedback. But otherwise, he was sound, alert, and in better condition than most others.
“Commander Tolly,” he called out, firm but without panic,
“I request permission to assist others to sickbay, sir.”
Ens. Sol’lin, Communications Officer
OOC: Seeing John is on LOA, and I really want to pick up the pace…
IC: There was no response from Commander Tolly, who had knocked unconscious from the blast.
GM
“Aw, Amoran,” Rado groaned, realizing that Tolly had been rendered unconscious as well. He spent a few seconds looking at the remaining bridge crew, unsure what to do. Knowing that they could no longer be sitting ducks, he took a deep breath and said, “I’ll, uh, fire the torpedoes.” He pressed the button to launch the torpedoes at the attacking ship.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security“Lieutenant Gainn,” Sol’lin called out, recognizing Tolly was incapacitated as well, “My request still stands, sir.”
His body was pumping with adrenaline, Vulcan levels of adrenaline at that. Purely a biological response, difficult to control for someone so relatively young and inexperienced.
“I think… It is possible to carry the Captain to sickbay for treatment.”
Ens. Sol’lin, Communication Officer
The doors of the turbolift were forced open by a pair of hands and Saxon stumbled out, pausing at the entrance he took in the carnage before acting. Both the captain and XO were unconscious, as was the second officer. The rest of the bridge crew were scrambling about trying to get things in order.
Tapping his comm badge, the CIO ordered, =^=Bridge to sickbay, I need a number of medical personnel up here, NOW, unless you can get a site-to-site transport. The CO, XO, and 2O are all unconscious and injured. I’m not sure of the extent of their injuries.=^=
“Switching gears, he addressed Rado, “Lt. , I need ships status: Shields, weapons, damage reports, lock target on their engines!! Ens. Sol’lin, was there any communication with the Excalibur before they attacked?”
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS Memorial“Shields at, uh, 84%. There’s minor damage on decks…nine and eight. I’ve fired some photon torpedoes already, more on the way.” Rado told McCleary. He locked target on their engines. It took a bit, but it got there. “Firing torpedoes, sir.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of SecurityOOC: I think the CSO is also on the bridge.
IC: The torpedo volley shot out from the Memorial, and sprinted toward the Excalibur. From the view screen, the bridge crew could see the other ship bank heavily to the right, whilst deploying counter-measures. Only one of the torpedoes struck her dorsal shield grid, causing it to momentarily fluctuate, but there was no discernible damage.
It was clear that the ships were evenly matched. Whether the Memorial would win was on a knife-edge but, even if they did, she would be significantly damaged.
GM
Sol’lin got his bearings. The communications, right. That was his focus right now,
“We had a channel with them open before the attack…” he said, resuming his station,
“They inquired if we were prepared to surrender, but we were hit before we could respond. I am not sure if their offer for surrender was genuine.”
Sol’lin had a bad habit of speculating, but he wanted to err on the side of caution. The ship was in danger, in a universe far from any support network. But ultimately her safety was now in the hands of Commander McCleary.
Ens. Sol’lin, Communication Officer
Upon realizing that the torpedoes did little damage, Rado grunted angrily. “Firing more torpedoes, sir,” He said, readying the payload and launching them.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of SecurityOOC: Interesting
CO
OOC: Sorry if I haven’t done much as of late. Hopefully trying to get myself a new chromebook eventually.
Lieutenant Commander Lucas “Markiplier” Hall Angel
Chief Science Officer
USS MemorialThe torpedoes raced out again, but this time the Excalibur retaliated, sending out a volley of torpedoes toward the ship.
The crew felt the deck sink beneath their feet as the inertial dampeners struggled to keep up with the manoeuvres the helmsman was putting the ship through, as she tried to evade them.
Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, and the dorsal shields collapsed. Perhaps engineering should have focused on those first.
Moments later, the computer chimed in: =^= Intruder alert! =^=. The Memorial was being boarded.
GM
Great Prophets on Kola Mountain! This couldn’t be happening!, Rado thought. He immediately whipped out his phaser hidden in his pocket.
“C-computer,” He said nervously, “W-where’s the, uh, intrusion?”Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security=^= Intruders are on Decks Ten, Eleven and Twelve =^= replied the computer.
GM
“Mr. Rado, get yourself to those decks and coordinate efforts to repel the invaders,” McCleary ordered.
Hitting the ship wide comms, he relayed. “All personnel, we have been boarded by the enemy. Prepare for defensive measures.”
“Amoran,” Rado uttered breathlessly in horror. He tapped his combadge, “All Security Officers, we have a code red on Decks 10, 11, and 12. I repeat, Code Red on 10 through 12.”
He approached to the turbolift. Upon almost tripping on the unconscious Tolly, he looked at Ensign Sol’lin, “You probably should get these officers to Sickbay, uh, Ensign.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security“Aye sir,” Sol’lin responded promptly. He hoisted up Captain Nightroad over his shoulder. The weight of his body hung limp without assistance. Sol’lin hauled him the best he could off the bridge.
(OOC: Do I crosspost with Medical?)
Ens. Sol’lin, Communication Officer
As Rado stepped onto the turbolift, he directed a few ensigns to pick up the other unconscious officers.
As the turbolift closed and begun to move, Rado whispered a Bajoran prayer.
(OCC: Maybe.)
Lieutenant Junior Grade Rado Gainn
Chief of Security
OOC: McCleary called for medical assistance as soon as he got to the bridge.
IC: As all hell broke loose, both inside and out side the Memorial, Saxon made a decision. He moved quickly to the tactical station and began firing phasers as well as torpedoes at the Excalibur.
Switching channels on the comms, he called to the CAG, =^=Firefly, this is McCleary, get your birds back on board. We’re going to make a run for it and get back on the other side of that rip in space.=^=
“Helm, continue defensive maneuvers, but get us back through the rip as soon as you get the word that all birds have come home to mama. Now that they have their people on board, they’re not going to destroy us. So their attacks should lighten, which, hopefully will give us the time we need.”
=^=Torpedo room, load 2 tricobalt torpedoes in forward launcher 1. I want them ready to fire at the ISS Memorial as soon as we get back to our ‘verse.=^=
“Angel, what are the chances a transphasic torpedo will be able to close the rip behind us, or make it bigger. I don’t want the Excalibur following us home. We’ll deal with other Memorial when we get to the other side.”
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
