Isabelle Royce went to the nearest workstation to complete a report of her findings regarding Ens. Nightingale’s on board physical. Physically he was fine, no alarming results there. But her initial general scan showed some significantly alarming results and required further investigation.
She began her report by addressing the computer and inputting her credentials.
“”Computer, encrypt the following report, allow access to only myself, the CMO, XO and Co of the USS Memorial. The following is a reporting of tests and findings for the routine onboard physical of Ens. Lance Nightingale. The biometrics used for Ens. Nightingale reflected his ethnicity as reported “Vulcan/Humanoid”. The scanner reading resulted in “error, no Vulcan biometrics determined”. When I enquired about his history, he stated that he had no memory beyond the last his 2 years and assumed his Vulcan/Humanoid ethnicity. I then reset them to Romulan due to physical similarities. After rescanning and getting the same results, I reset the scanner to scan for any recognizable lifeforms. The results were negative for every life form known to the Federation, with the exceptions, “Humanoid =< 50%, Cardassian <1%, Changleing inconclusive, WARNING: possible universe quantum signature inconsistency.”
I have confirmed that all updates to the databases are up to date and all equipment functioning properly.
The Cardassians have been known to alter the DNA of different species, especially Changelings. They always “sign” their work and my hypothesis is that is what accounts for the less than one percent Cardassian. This could also account for no memory past two years and the lack of DNA relative matches. The major question given the quantum signature warning is “what universe’s Cardassians are we dealing with?”. Although it is possible that the findings could be in error, the probability is less than 25%.

Recommendations based on findings:
1. Immediate further extensive testing, with the assistance of the Science Department regarding quantum signature.
2.. Appropriate security provisions until further testing is complete.”

She ended her report with “Computer: sign and send report to Dr. Silva priority one”.”

OOC:Just throwing a little twist in the plot to coincide with the rest of the plot. I started a new thread as the previous one was getting pretty long and this was a good separation point.

OOC: please talk to the people involved to include the GM and CO before doing something like this. The only person who can spin a story about someone else on the ship is the Game Master and then the GM will talk to me and parties involved before doing it. Basically anything outside of the scope of your character needs to be brought before the other party and CO and GM.

OOC: This will be my last comment about this on here. The GM and CO need to be in the loop also. I have the final say on characters on the ship and I personally let my GM be involved in these discussions as they are the ones navigating our story.

Sorry, I should have go to this sooner.

Firstly, Judy and Issac, it’s great to see a post that has some backstory to it, and that plays on the current sim. That clearly shows your creative talents, as well as your interest in the wider goings on with the sim. My role, as the Gamemaster (GM), is to make sure that the main sim develops in a way that provides an enjoyable roleplaying experience to all the ship crew. Whilst I tend to be stand-off from side-sims (ie those threads that don’t have direct GM interaction), they do need to be coherent with the wider sim. Unfortunately I feel that what you’ve described is likely to have direct impact on the direction of the sim, due to both the seriousness of the findings (ie the CO would be forced to act) and also due to the link to the quantum signature discussion that’s ongoing within the science lab. Consequently, I am voiding this thread, but I am more than happy to work through a side-sim that allows you to explore your characters without impacting on other members’ experience.

As a point of process, voiding a post is something that only the Gamemaster can do (although Rick knew that was the intention) and it has to be with an explanation (see above). The decision to void a thread can also be appealed through the Gamemaster Director, Tom Hillman.
