Good evening everyone, I would like to start this part of Posting Etiquette with everyone going here, https://www.star-fleet.com/library/handbook and read the Player Handbook. Even if you have read it I would like everyone to go back and reread it before moving forward.

Now with that out of the way, in this episode we will talk about the responsibilities of JO’s vs DH’s vs CMD and a few other things.

Most of us are on multiple ships and on one ship you might be the Captain, XO or GM, on another ship you might be a DH and a third ship you might be a JO. Just like in the military or any other job, the CMD team gives the orders, the DH’s take those orders and take the part that is relevant to them and gives those orders to the JO’s and the JO’s carry out the grunt work to get things done. Now that doesn’t mean that the DH’s or CMD team doesn’t do any grunt work but the majority is done by the JO’s.

Now do not get me wrong, we are one team and as Captain, as Captain, I listen to what everyone around me has to say and take all this into consideration, formulate that into a direction, and give orders and commands to the crew for the way I want the ship to go. My XO’s responsibility is to keep the DH’s in line and give me alternate ideas so I don’t get stuck in a direction that might be wrong. You see this in the Motion Picture when Commander Decker gives conflicting ideas to Captain Kirk. Normally I will tell the XO what I want then it is her responsibility to let the DH’s know what is going on but lately I have been going straight to DH’s because she is in the Science lab helping to figure out the cube.

So in a nutshell, JO’s , you should be the ones that are asking the computer things and doing scans and other items, DH’s you are overseeing your team to ensure they are doing what needs to be done and helping in places and the Command Team is overseeing the Ship and everything that is happening.

Now I want to talk about a few things that are happening on the Ship, first is posting rates. We are a 5/7/10 ship, some of you post faster then others and some of you jump right into a thread you are tagged in as soon as the email hits your inbox. I want everyone to take a step back when they see a post they are tagged in hit their inbox and look to see if it is their turn to answer. In the Science Lab, I play two JO’s Ensign West Averson, Engineer and LT Sabik, Scientist. Wes might be talking to Sabik about something but everyone else that is tagged on the thread will get the email. I talked about this in Posting Etiquettes part 1 or 2. So please read what is happening use snip so the thread doesn’t get too long.

The last part of this is IC and OCC issues. Sometimes one person will have an issue with another person or will not like how someone wrote something, this happens, the key to resolving this is not putting OCC’s on the boards but to use the contact button and talk to the other party via email or hop on discord and discuss it either in our ship’s channel or DM. I look at all the threads and if I notice something might be off, I will normally talk to the DH and let them try to handle it or if it is a DH then myself or the XO will try to handle it, if it has to do with me, Steve the Fleet Commander or the GM will handle it.
