The young ensign at Ops had been scratching his head about where the cylindrical ship that had been pursuing them had disappeared to, when something else grabbed his attention.“Weird,” he muttered to himself, as he started to focus his attention to the location beacons of various starbases within the sector. To assist with navigation, most starbases would transmit an identifier, along with their relative position and a time code. Whilst he was receiving some signals, some were missing, and some were in different locations.
He started checking for starbases belonging to other civilisations to see if it was just an error with the Federation ones. He blinked for a moment, before looking up at the duty officer.
“Sir, either the sensors aren’t working properly, or we’re not in Kansas anymore.” he said.

OOC: Bump!

John approached the ensign and placed a hand on his shoulder. “What do we have?” he asked, glancing down at the sensors. He pressed a few buttons on the screen before tapping his comm badge. “Bridge to Captain Nightroad, Sir, we have a situation here,” John said. He looked down at the ensign. “Good work, Ensign,” he said, patting the young man on the shoulder.LCDM John Tolly

LCDM John Tolly
Chief of OperationsHe looked at John and said. “Nothing. The computer doesn’t know the main origins of the cube and the main problem is the dialect language. It’s a completely unknown language. Something that can’t be translated.” As he moved back in his chair and hit his leg with his hand. “How hard is it for a simple language to be translated but can’t be translated at all?” He asked. “It is just at this point my investigation on the cube is almost totally useless.” He added.

Chief of Operations“I can run scans. And see where we are. Oh uh also just so you know there is a petty officer who just joined. Why don’t you go and talk to her eventually. She’s needing someone to talk to. But I’ll get on these scans though and see where we are.” He said.

USS MemorialThe Petty officer had her pad that had information that needed to get the captain’s signature. However, she wasn’t quite sure if he was busy. She walked up and handed the pad to Captain Nightroad. “Here you go, captain. Everything checks out and everything.” She said.

Chief of OperationsShe handed the commander the pad. “Lola sir. Petty Officer Lola Logan. His Yeoman.” She said with a smile. Looking at John with a smile, she knew that looking at him he’s very professional. But at the same time she hasn’t really met anyone until now.

Tolly tapped his comm badge to reply,=/\= “Aye, sir,” he responded as he turned and pressed a button on the command chair. “All department heads, please report to the briefing room in 45 minutes. I repeat, all department heads, please report to the briefing room in 45 minutes.” He turned to Lucas and said, “I wonder what’s going on?””LCMD John Tolly
Chief of Operations“I agree. But at the same time, the captain will tell us during the meeting anyways so who knows what it is.” Lucas said turning to John.

USS MemorialCain moved from his Ready Room onto the Bridge. He was on his way to Sick Bay to see what was happening with the Ferengi Frax. As he moved towards the center seat occupied by the XO, Cain saw Viktoryia’s red eyes and asked, “What is on your mind Number 1?”
Nightroad, CO
“Lack of feeding before I was whisked away by the Void” she said softly. She wasn’t sure who on the ship knew of her mutation and didn’t want to scare anyone so she kept quite.

“We can talk about your situation in the turbo lift.” Cain replied. As he walked towards the turbo lift, he stopped at John and handed him a PaDD and said, “Congratulations Lieutenant Commander, we will have a more fitting ceremony once we figure out what is happening.” Cain had four more PaDD’s to give out but for now he said, “Mr. Tolly, you have the Conn, the XO and I will be in Sick bay 1.”
Nightroad, CO
John nodded as he got up from his station “Aye sir” He said as he took his spot in the center chair
Lt. Cmdr John Tolly
Chief of OpperationsSome time passed, and the poor Ensign at Ops was still sat at his post, not being importance enough to be invited to the Department Heads’ meeting. However, having now appeared in a few posts rather than being a token ensign for a single post, Ensign Boyd now had a name.
Boyd looked up from his console as he surveyed the bridge. He wondered what would be the chef’s special for the evening meal. Suddenly his console beeped. He looked down, and saw what appeared to be a Federation warp signature heading toward them… apart from it appeared to be distorted.
He looked up to see who was on the bridge.
GM
John looked at Ensign Boyd, raising a quizzical eyebrow. “What is it, Ensign?” he asked, stepping down from the center chair to the Ops station.
Lt. Cmdr John Tolly
Chief of Opperations“There appears to be a Starfleet vessel, heading toward us; ETA 38 minutes.” he reported, before pausing. “Or at least I think it’s Starfleet; most of the characteristics match, but the warp field doesn’t conform to normal parameters.

GMJohn bit hit bottom lip looking down at the screen as the small blip moved across “Can we hail them?” He asked as he peered closer
Lt. Cmdr John Tolly
Chief of Opperations“They are in range,” replied Boyd. “You would have thought they may have hailed us by now if they are on an intercept course.”
GM
John remained silent, staring at the monitor for a moment as he ran his tongue over his teeth. “Open a channel,” he finally commanded. Boyd pressed a button and then nodded up at John. “This is USS Memorial to unidentified Starfleet vessel. Please identify yourself.” He stepped back and waited for a response.
Lt. Cmdr John Tolly
Chief of OperationsThere was no reply, at first. A few moments later, a garbled message came over the communications system. =^=… Federation… distress call… do you need… =^=
GM
As the turbo lift stopped at the main bridge and Cain walked out with the XO and Counselor he could feel something was happening on the bridge. Without missing a beat, he asked, “Mr. Tolly, what is the situation.”
Nightroad, CO
Boyd spoke up. “We’ve got an unknown ship on an intercept course. It appears to be Federation in origin… I think… the scans are all fubared…” he said, with a grumble.
GM
“Have they answered our hails” Cain asked. While he was thinking of his next move he asked, “How far out is the contact”
Nightroad, CO
“The message was quite broken,” the Ensign said. “It sounded like that they thought we were in distress. They are currently 35 minutes out at their current speed, which is warp 6.”
GM
Cain thought for a moment as he sat down in the center seat. “Ensign Boyd, open a channel to the other ship,” Cain said, “Let’s see if we can figure this out.”
With everything he had seen so far with the former Captain saying they were in an alternate universe all the could think about was what Captain Kirk’s Enterprise had gone through over a century ago; the Terran Empire and all the bad things they do. Cain had about 30 minutes to figure out who or what the ship with the federation transponder was before he would go to Red Alert.
After a moment he tapped his comm badge and said =/\= Nightroad to LT Colonel Arien. Prepare a flight to intercept the ship moving towards us but be careful out their.” He then slumped back and pondered what to do next.
Nightroad, CO
=/\= “Aye, sir,” the CAG snapped, =/\= and the line closed as his first two running footsteps were heard. The doors to the bridge swooshed open and Intel chief stepped out of the lift.
“Captain, I just wanted to let you know that Frax is coming to. Mr. Rado seemed to have a rapport with him, so I left him to do the interrogation.”
He looked up at the viewscreen and asked, “Is that a Federation ship? Why is the the picture so blurry?”
After a moments pause, he added, “I got a bad feeling about this.”
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS MemorialLieutenant Colonel John “Firefly” Arlen
Commander, Air GroupThe comm channel came to live before they had chance to send a message. =^= This is the Federation starship Excalibur, calling the Memorial. We are responding to your distress call that you transmitted approximately two hours ago.=^=
“Huh, that’s weird,” said Ensign Boyd. “Two hours ago was when we were battling that cylindrical vessel, which then disappeared.”
GM
Cain replied to the message, =/\=This is the Memorial…”, Cain was about to give his name but held off. Instead he finished his reply with =/\=We can discuss more when you are in visual range.=/\=
Cain jumped from his chair and gave the hand across the neck motion for Mr. Boyd to mute transmission. With that he looked around the bridge and asked, “Did we send out a distress signal in the past two hours?” and waited for a response
Nightroad, CO
The counselor had been silent since sickbay. As he was listening to the exchange with the other ship he sat down at his station. He tapped silently at his armrest console to bring up the Excalibur and list of command staff. He wanted to have information for the Captain as soon as he could.
-CNS
“Sir, I was on the bridge when we slipped into wherever we are. I don’t recall a distress call being sent out at any time. That image is distorted. They’re hiding something.”
Saxon took a seat at a nearby console and did a cross reference comparison to their last known position and current star charts. While he was waiting for that information, he requested the computer give him an update on the Excalibur’s last known position.
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS MemorialJohn gave a slight shrug. “Maybe they picked up another distress call and just assumed we sent it?” He turned to the Captain. “Maybe he picked up the distress call from your shuttle that we received?” He pursed his lips. “I think the bigger question is, where the hell are we?” He motioned to the star chart. “According to this, we are nowhere near any known space, and the fact that there seems to be another Federation ship makes it even curiouser and curiouser,” he said, raising an eyebrow.
Lt. Commander John Tolly
Chief of OperationsOOC: Before Jack says it, don’t assume that stars are different or that we aren’t in the same place we were. Run sensors and the GM will tell you the outcome. Thanks
IC:
Cain thought for a moment and said, “No, the Excalibur said they were responding to Memorial’s distress call.” Cain wanted to know where they were in space and said, “Mr. Tolly, confirm our location.” Looking at tactical he stated, have the shields ready to go up but for now remain at green.”
The pieces were starting to fall into a pattern and he thought of everything he knew so far. The former Captain said we were not in our native galaxy and left with the former XO and Security Chief, the cube that science is trying to figure out had a different quantum signature then the Ship and crew, and there was a blurry ship calling itself the Federation Ship Excalibur responding to the distress call from the Memorial.
After a moment it all came together and Cain turned to tactical and proclaimed, “Shields Up, Yellow Aler!”
Nightroad, CO
Makoto was at the Engineering station on the bridge she ran a quick Diagnostic on the shields just to be on the safe side as they were going up she would run through all the other systems to as they waited wondering what was going on

Chief Engineer-USS MemorialFrom the console he was sitting at, Saxon confirmed, Yellow alert, shields up, Captain.”
The tactical HUD indicated that six Cutlass-class fighters had successfully launched and were en route to intercept.
Lieutenant Colonel John “Firefly” Arlen
Commander, Air GroupThe location was the same as it had been since the encounter with the cylindrical ship. However, hadn’t Boyd said something about starbases being different? Beacons from Federation starbases, outputs and sensors showed that Federation space wasn’t the same as it had been.
GM
IC:
Cain heard the Ensign acknowledge that they were where they were supposed to be but everything seemed different outside the ship. Jumping up from his seat, Cain looked at the bridge crew and said, “From what the previous Captain had said in his holo-message, Ensign Boyd’s discovery of some Starbases being in the same place and others being in different, and the Excalibur coming towards the Memorial’s distress call that we did not send our ship from our universe was transposed with the Memorial from this universe.” After a moment he said, “This is the reason for my yellow alert and shields, even though they said they were the Federation, we don’t know what the ship coming towards us will be like. Better safe then sorry in my opinion.”Looking at Ensign Boyd, Cain asked, “Time till that ship intercepts us now?”
Nightroad, CO
John took a step back and stood with his hands behind his back in the at ease position allowing the young ensign to take the lead, he had after all been the one to notice the Excalibur
Lt. Commander John Tolly
Chief of Operations“Twenty minutes,” replied Boyd, as he tried to clear up the static that was clouding both the communications channel and the view screen. It was almost as if the local space had been distorted recently.
Saxon started to work on clearing up the image of the Excalibur. He hoped he was wrong, but had a hunch that when the image was cleared, he would see ISS Excalibur across the hull.
Lieutenant Commander Saxon McCleary
Chief Intelligence Office USS MemorialBoyd had success with the comms, as the voice of the Excalibur’s CO broke through.
=^= Excalibur to Memorial. Nightroad, it’s Goodspeed, =^= said the voice, almost familiarly. =^= We picked up your distress call. =^=
Boyd thought a moment. “Sir, it’s possible that the Excalibur is suffering the same issues we’re having, and not able to fully identify us.”
GM
Cain listened to the voice that came over the channel and knew it well, but was this the same Captain Goodspeed that he knew. Cain also wondered how Captain Goodspeed knew he was the Captain of the ship. Many things were still not adding up. After a moment, Cain responded, =^=Goodspeed this is Nightroad, good to hear a familiar voice out here in the expanse of space. =^=
Cain sat back down in his chair and wondered what would happen next in this crazy nightmare.
Nightroad, CO
Makoto began to attempt to Reroute power as best she could maybe she could boost the sensors so that they could get a better read on the incoming ship
