Cain knew that the crew was on edge, anyone would be in the situation the ship was in. Working his cast iron pans, Cain was more of a traditionalist and did not enjoy using the replicators to make meals. Looking down, he noticed Boomer was waiting for items to drop to the floor for a quick snack. Shifting the pan in his hand, he looked in the oven to make sure the 22 lb. turkey was browning. Cain was creating a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, something that was passed down in his family for many generations all the way back to his paternal many ago great grandfathers ago in the 20th Century. He had made the pies the night before and were still sitting on racks. He sifted the pan a few more times to ensure their were not any lumps in the gravy. Potatoes were simmering for the mashed potatoes and a few other sides were in the warmers to keep until meal time.

Cain had asked everyone he had invited to bring a food that was traditional to their upbringing and hoped to taste a few items he had never seen before. Walking over to the large table set up for over 20 guests, he looked back and said, ” Boomer, go lay down over near the fireplace and try not to beg people for food when they get here.” Boomer trudged his way over to his bed and plopped down with a sigh looking back at his master.

Cain enjoyed talking to people while he cooked and hoped that the invited guests would start showing up soon.

Lieutenant Commander Hall Angel had just got off of his shift from the science lab for the night. He then went to the captain’s Quarters and rang the chime as he stood there still in uniform.
