Posting part four, we will talk about our ship being a slow ship and those of you that like to post faster then others what you can do to post more.

Our ship is a 5/7/10 ship which is the slowest in the fleet. Command, that is myself, Amanda and Jack have 5 days for our main characters, Department Heads have 7 days and JO’s and others have 10 days. Now 10 days, that is a week and a half to wait for someone to post a reply to your post so while you are waiting there are ways to post that do not interfere with the main sim but build your characters back story or have an IC romance with another character or any number of things you can do. These side sims can go any speed and do not rely on the speed of the ship or where we are in the great sim that Jack is giving us.

I will use an example of this with the CAG and his pilots, they have a back story side sim happening to onboard them and show how they all got onto the ship. That side sim can go any speed because the story happens before the beginning of the main sim. When you watch any Star Trek series or movie, you will see that things happen in peoples quarters, places like 10 Forward or my favorite, Captain Pikes Kitchen in his quarters, which I will be hosting a dinner soon as a side sim. We also see flashbacks, which are great with back stories and is a thread that only you need to add to or you can grab someone else.

The club has three types of ships, Fast, medium and slow and we are one of the slow ships. Our ship is designed for people who cannot be online all the time but still want to be part of the team and club. Personally, I am retired so I am on everyday looking at the boards and posting on the many ships that I am on but I am the exception not the rule. I asked for command of the ship knowing that it was a slow ship but also knowing the great people already aboard and have come aboard after me. I want everyone to have fun posting and building their characters profiles and complexities.
