OOC: This is something I put on discord in our channel but some of you don’t get on discord so I want to put it here. Please do not think I am posting this because of something that happened it is to make us all better posters and bring the caliber of the sim up on the ship. I might be bias here but I believe we have the best ship on the site.

OK when it comes to posting there are specific ways to write.

When we are describing a scene in a thread we are talking in third person past tense:

 Example:  Cain wondered what his XO was thinking after the information dump that had just transpired.

When we are talking to someone or something, we type like we talk which is in present tense:

 Example:  "Number 1 what do you think of all the information we just received?"

When we talk we use quotations i.e. “…”, when we are thinking in our mind we us apostrophes i.e. ‘…’ and when we talk though our comm badge we use either =^= or =/\= i.e. =^=…=^= or =/\=…=/\=.

When you have information to share In character remember it is going to the bridge not straight to the Captain, if the XO has the Conn then that is the person you are talking to or who ever has the conn that is the person in charge of the ship at that moment.

Remember to read the complete thread before posting to it to make sure you understand the direction of the post which will make for better posting.

Again please don’t take this as someone is not doing something correctly, everyone is doing great. These are just reminders to everyone as a reminder on posting etiquette.

What I want to talk about in this next part is the Sim itself and how to proceed. No matter what ship we are talking about the GM has a plan from the beginning to the end of how it will play out and side sims and other ideas they have in place to make it fun and enjoyable. We as a crew have no idea what is happening so it is up to us on the boards to try and deduce what is happening to move the sim along and complete our mission and to do this we use a few things:

1. We use open ended fact finding questions not the yes or no questions when we are trying to figure something out. An example of this is:

   “Chief, what is wrong with the Transporter?” which requires the person or GM playing to Chief to tell me what is happening, if I just ask “Chief, are the transporters working?” they are just going to say yes or no.

2. Another way is to brain storm with your fellow crewmates how to tackle something. We see this on our board in the brig where the entire security team along with intel and now the doctor and counselor are trying to figure out what is going on. This thread is going very nicely by the way.

3. the Memorial Discord is a way to talk to the rest of the crew and formulate ideas before putting up a thread. Please use it.
