The young ensign at Ops had been scratching his head about where the cylindrical ship that had been pursuing them had disappeared to, when something else grabbed his attention.

“Weird,” he muttered to himself, as he started to focus his attention to the location beacons of various starbases within the sector. To assist with navigation, most starbases would transmit an identifier, along with their relative position and a time code. Whilst he was receiving some signals, some were missing, and some were in different locations.

He started checking for starbases belonging to other civilisations to see if it was just an error with the Federation ones. He blinked for a moment, before looking up at the duty officer.

“Sir, either the sensors aren’t working properly, or we’re not in Kansas anymore.” he said.
