The lift slowed at its final stop and the doors opened to the breathtaking view of the bridge. In all parts, young officers were moving at a frantic pace as if they didn’t know what was happening either. Stepping out of the lift, Cain knew he needed to find out where the CO was and walked up to the closest officer asling, “Ensign, where is the Captain and First Officer?”

Tolly waited until both Captain Nightroad and the Commander, whose name he hadn’t gotten yet, stepped off the turbo lift. As Captain Nightroad asked the Ensign at the Conn where the ship’s Captain and XO were, John stepped to the side, wondering if he should speak up about what had happened on the away mission.
