As she cleared out the last few things she had on her desk the chime rang. “Enter” She said as she took a deep breath. As the door swooshed open she glanced up to see Lt. Commander Andrews standing before her. “Congratulations on your promotion!” She said as the doors closed behind him.

“Thank you!” He said as his eyes darted around the room. No doubt already planning how he was going to start decorating it once everything was out of it. “I’m going to miss you!

“Come on don’t do this to me you’re going to make me cry! You know I hate goodbye!” She was already emotional, and he was making it worse.

“I know you don’t, but I don’t know when I’ll get to see you again” he said as he took a step closer to me, and put his arm around my waist. She sighed deeply as she gazed into his eyes.

She hasn’t planned on traveling the stars again, but found it hard to resist when the position on the memorial had been presented. “I’ll miss you Eric, but don’t think of it as good bye but a see you soon!”

She pulled him into a tight hug and quickly pulled away. Not lingering long she grabbed the box in her hand and headed towards the door as she stepped out side the tears had started falling.

She fought back the tears as she made her way toward the turbo lift. Once inside the life the tears started to fall and an overwhelming feeling entangled her. When she opened her eyes again she was in complete darkness.
