As the Lieutenant got on board, he was superstitious about everything however, being the new Chief Science Officer, he knows what is to be expected. He then went into the turbolift and said “Bridge.” The turbolift doors whooshes closed and then heads off to the bridge. The doors whooshes open and he steps off and heads to the commanding officers ready room. He then chimes the chime and waits.

OOC: I believe it is customary to check in with the XO, not the CO per the chain of command. In any case I will take this thread in place of the CO.

IC: Sifeda stood at the ready room’s desk, a small stack of data pads in hand, when the chime echoed through the room. She wasn’t expecting anyone at this hour and Captain Voss had graciously allowed her to use his ready room to complete some administrative work. A slight frown creased her brow. Who could it be?

Without hesitation, she tapped the console to unlock the door, allowing it to slide open. Her gaze lifted to meet the figure standing in the doorway. It was the new Chief Science Officer, Lieutenant Lucas Hall. Sifeda had yet to form a solid opinion about him, though she had briefly read his file.
“Lieutenant Hall,” she greeted him formally, her voice steady and neutral. “Please, come in.” She gestured to the chair across from the desk, her expression remaining neutral. “What brings you to my ready room at this hour, Lieutenant?” she asked, her tone measured, neither warm nor cold. She had learned that maintaining a balanced demeanor helped in gauging the true nature of those under her command. What kind of man was he? She would soon find out.

“Hello Commander and thank you. I’m just here to check in before I go on duty. And before that to check in with the Chief medical officer. I wanted to come in and make sure I am all set before I do anything ma’am.” He said being extremely formal. “I do apologize for interrupting anything you were doing as well.” He apologized to the Commander with no doubt that he might have interrupted.

IC: Sifeda eyes remained on Lieutenant Hall as he spoke. Setting the data pads on the desk, she clasped her hands together, leaning slightly forward. “There’s no need to apologize, Lieutenant. It’s important for all officers to be properly prepared before assuming their duties.” Her tone remained neutral, but there was a hint of curiosity in her eyes as she continued. “You’ve been on board for a short while now. How are you finding the Memorial?”

“I am adjusting to the Memorial commander. And I’m sure being the new Chief Science officer means I got a lot of responsibilities. Which yes of course I can handle. But however, adjusting to the Memorial itself. I’m enjoying it. She’s a great ship. With some good officers on board. She couldn’t have asked for a better crew for us a better ship.” He said as he smiled at her saying what he had said. “Now with that being said I’m glad I’m here.” He added.

His smile didn’t go unnoticed, but Sifeda’s expression remained composed, revealing nothing beyond polite interest. “Good,” she said, her voice even. “The Memorial is indeed a fine ship, and it’s reassuring to know you’ve already begun to settle in. As Chief Science Officer, you’ll find that the demands of your position are not just about managing your department but also about integrating scientific perspectives into every mission we undertake. It’s a responsibility that requires not just knowledge, but intuition and adaptability.”
She paused. The Memorial had a reputation for challenging its officers, pushing them to their limits and beyond. Sifeda wanted to ensure that Hall understood this, that he was prepared for his duties.
“There will be times,” she continued, her tone slightly more measured, “when the decisions you make will carry significant consequences for the ship and her crew. It’s important that you’re not only confident in your abilities but also aware of the potential impact of your actions. The Memorial demands the best from all of us.”
Sifeda’s gaze softened just a touch, acknowledging his enthusiasm without dismissing it. “I trust you’ll rise to the occasion, Lieutenant Hall. The crew will be relying on you, as will I.”

She reached for one of the data pads on her desk, glancing briefly at its contents before looking back at him. “If there’s anything you need to ease your transition or any concerns you might have, don’t hesitate to bring them to my attention.” With that, she held the pad out to him

“Understood Commander. I am well knowledgeable and well comfortable. I also do understand what my position holds and what not. I also understand I have responsibilities and also understand that I’ll have consequences to my decisions.” He said with a firm tone. As he took the pad back.
