Subject: Invitation to Break Bread: A New Journey BeginsDear Senior Staff,
As we embark on a new journey together aboard the USS Memorial, I would like to invite you to join me for a time-honored tradition – breaking bread. In many cultures, this act symbolizes unity, camaraderie, and the beginning of a shared adventure.
Please join me in my private dining room for a special Captain’s dinner, where we will break bread and toast to our new voyage ahead. This will be an opportunity for us to come together, build bonds, and set the course for our future endeavors as a team.
Time: 1900
Location: Captain’s Private Dining Room
Dress: Dress UniformI look forward to sharing this moment with each of you and to the adventures that lie ahead.
Warm regards,
Aiden

The room was bathed in a warm, inviting glow as soft lighting illuminated the elegant furnishings. A long, polished table took center stage, adorned with crisp white linens and sparkling silverware.
A team of dedicated crew members bustled about, arranging lavish floral centerpieces and ensuring every detail was perfect. The aroma of exquisite dishes wafted through the air as the ship’s chefs worked tirelessly to prepare a delectable feast worthy of the occasion.
As the final touches were put in place, Aiden surveyed the scene with a sense of satisfaction. The table was set, the ambiance was just right, and everything was poised for an unforgettable evening of friendship and celebration. With a nod of approval, he stepped back to await the arrival of his esteemed guests.
Captain Aiden Voss
Commanding Officer
USS MemorialAs Sifeda read Captain Voss’s invitation she felt a sense of honor to be the senior staff of the USS Memorial. A united front was essential for overcoming the challenges they would face on their journey through the unknown reaches of space.
With a quick glance at her reflection in the mirror, Sifeda adjusted her dress uniform and exited her quarters.
Arriving at the Captain’s Dining Room precisely at 1900 hours, Sifeda wondered if she was the first to arrive. As she entered the room she looked around to see who was there.Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)John slid in right behind here moving next to her, he gave her a smile and a nod.
“Looks like we’re the first ones here” He said looking around the roomLieutenant John Tolly Chief Opperations Officer
“Indeed, it seems we’ve beaten the rush,” she remarked, her tone light. She appreciated his company and the opportunity to engage in casual conversation before the formalities of the evening began. “It’s nice to have a moment to chat before things get underway,” Sifeda continued, her gaze drifting around the room once more. “I hope everything has been well with your duties.” She glanced back at Lieutenant Tolly, curious to hear his thoughts on his recent workload.
He shrugged lightly. “So far, so good. I’m eager to meet the rest of the senior staff; hopefully, they’re as welcoming as you, Commander,” he said, his smile friendly yet playful.
OOC if its not really appropriate for Miz’uki’s Wife to join this little event please let me know and I will edit the postthe door opened and a pair of Caitians females walked in one was in the Starfleet Dress uniform with a Skirt instead of pants the other was wearing a nice civilian dress The officer of course was Miz’uki “Sorry we are late” she purred as they walked in
Miz’uki
As Miz’uki and her companion entered, Sifeda offered a warm nod of welcome.
Matt came to the gathering. He never understood why people used their dress uniforms with food. They never stayed clean.

KT was next to enter. she had been trying to decide which dress uniform to wear. Because of the programme she was on in theory she could wear her peoples dress uniform, but she thought it might bring up some odd questions. Like why is it black? Or why she had so many awards. So she decided to compromise she wore her star fleet uniform but with the first row of bars form her people. They where a selection of different colours going form gold to copper, to silver and in different designs. Some with symbols carved on to them other with just a line of a different number of stars on them.
She looked around the room and gave polite nods to everyone. She of course didn’t need to eat or drink but she knew that meetings like this where of significance among organics.
“I am glad you could all make it, I’m aware that these sort of things are a little… ancient but I wanted to have us come together before things get in the way. I am also extremely fond of food and even more fond of good company.” Aiden was sat at the table which was a circle, he was beloved in all people were equal regardless of rank or background and wanted everything to be so. “Would anyone like a drink before the enteres arrive?”
Captain Aiden Voss
Commanding Officer
USS MemorialCaptain Voss’s welcoming words resonated with her deeply. His appreciation for good company and the unity of their team spoke volumes about his leadership style. Sifeda admired his ability to create an atmosphere where rank mattered less than mutual respect and cooperation.
“I’ll have a glass of water, thank you, Captain,” Sifeda replied politely, her gaze sweeping over the room once more.
Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)“Scotch, neat,” he said, glancing at Itri and offering a slight shrug. “Well, if he’s offering drinks, I’m going to take him up on that,” he remarked with a smirk.
John Tolly Chief Operations Officer
“Good choice,” said Sifeda to John with a smile. “I should as well, but I think I will observe the room first.”
KT politely declined “No thank you Sir” she said respectfully

Spotting the Commander Miz’uki walked over to her “Hello Commander It looks like we get a second chance at working together You might not remember but when you had joined the Ark Angel as her first officer I was just transferring off after being her Chief Engineer” she said offering a paw for a handshake “This is my wife K’mora” she added motioning to the Caitian she was escortingMiz’uki
“Lieutenant Commander Miz’uki,” Sifeda greeted warmly, taking Miz’uki’s offered paw in a firm handshake. “Of course, I remember. It’s good to see you again, and I am glad it is under better circumstances. Turning her attention to the Caitian by Miz’uki’s side, Sifeda offered a genuine smile. “And it’s a pleasure to meet you, K’mora.” Turning back to Miz’uki, she continued, “You were leaving just as I was coming aboard. If I recall correctly, were recovering from that encounter with the alien blob,” she said gently, her voice filled with sympathy. “It must have been a harrowing experience. How are you holding up now?”
Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)KT had decided for now to just watch the room and then join in when she was ready. It was strange for her to be invited to this sort of thing and not be the server or the entertainment. She shuddered at the memories. It was the greatest gift and the biggest curse of her people to remember everything in perfect detail.

OOC: Also included John’s response from the split thread.
Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)Her face froze as the memories of the Blob came back to her “Oh yes…I Nearly Forgot about that! Thank you Oh SO much for reminding me” she sighed K’mora patting her gently “the fur on her head still has not fully grown back as of yet” she giggled “that whole thing is just another thing she sees the counselor for but don’t let her fool you she is holding up fine!” she added teasingly
“You are just so Cruel to me!” Miz’uki moaned at her wife
“You Know you love it!” K’mora replied “Just water for us Captain thank you!”
Miz’uki and K’mora
“I’m glad to hear that you’re holding up, Miz’uki, despite the lingering effects. And it’s a pleasure to meet you, K’mora,” she added, offering a reassuring smile to the Caitian.
Aiden smiled as he fetched the drinks, mostly replicated with some special ones reserved for later if anyone wanted. After a brief moment, he returned with a tray and handed out the drinks to those who ordered them. “Please, take a seat. No reason to put off the good stuff,” he said, taking his own seat at the table and waiting for the others to do the same.
“Once again, thank you all for coming,” he began, “and a special welcome to K’Mora, our Chief Engineer’s wife. I’m pleased you felt comfortable joining us. After all, we’re all living on the same ship, held together by Miz’uki, of course.” He glanced around the table, feeling a sense of joy.

USS MemorialMatt took a seat at the table. This was one of the first time he met all of the senior staff. He was used to being around multiple different disciplines. But, this would be the first time around this group.

Miz’uki and K’mora took their seats and settled in for dinner though for the most part they were keeping to themselves at the moment beyond talking to Commander Itri though they were not being unfriendly it was more that they would let the others talk to them if they wanted too
Miz’ukiAs the food began being brought out, “I understand this may be a little ‘forced’ I wanted to bring us together in a slightly different setting rather official get together or meetings, I believe in getting to know my crew and cultivating a culture of trust and I’ve always enjoyed food and conversation, it was either this or a football game in the holodeck” He chuckled, “So Instead of me asking a bunch of questions how about you start? I am aware some of you have served together before on this ship and some of us are new so lets get to know one another.”

USS MemorialCommander Itri listened to Captain Voss’s words, nodding in agreement. As the food was served, she glanced around the table, taking in the faces of her fellow officers.
“It’s good to have this opportunity to come together,” Sifeda spoke up, her voice carrying a hint of sincerity. “It’s…I look forward to working with each of you.”
She paused for a moment, her mind racing through potential conversation topics. She found herself somewhat at a loss for words in this informal setting.“So, tell me,” she continued, directing her attention to Lieutenant Commander Miz’uki and K’mora, “how did the two of you meet? It’s always fascinating to hear about the paths that bring people together, especially in our line of work.”

“we grew up together on Cait our Clans have always been good friends as well and we just kinda realized that we cared for each other as more than friends” Miz’uki said smiling Taking her lovers hand as they began dinner
“I’m a Geologist by trade and well I hope that even though I am a Civilian I might prove Useful!” K’mora added her tail swishing back and forth
Miz’uki and K’mora
Matt perked up. “Geologist are always welcome in the science department. My predecessor was mission specialist before taking over. Whenever you want to explore let me know.”

Sifeda listened to Miz’uki and K’mora’s story, her expression softening as it was shared. The connection between them was evident, and it added a touch of warmth to the otherwise formal atmosphere of the officer’s dinner. It was moments like these that reminded Sifeda of the deeper connections formed amidst the vastness of space, connections that often went beyond mere duty.
As she took a sip of her drink, Sifeda’s mind wandered briefly to her own experiences. The path that had brought her to the USS Memorial was not one of personal relationships but of steadfast commitment to Starfleet and its mission. She admired the easy way Miz’uki and K’mora spoke about their lives, different to her own guarded nature.
She nodded at Matt’s remark. “I’m sure your expertise will be invaluable to us, K’mora,” Sifeda said. “Our missions often take us to uncharted territories where understanding the geology can be crucial, not just for scientific discovery but for the safety of our crew.”
Sifeda then turned her attention to the rest of the table, seeking to draw everyone into the conversation. “What about the rest of you? Any stories from our travels that you think our new crew members would find interesting or useful?” She hoped to steer the conversation into a more inclusive and engaging direction.
Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)KT listened the the others as she watched the room. She worried that her not eating would be unnerving or be seen as rude to the rest of the crew, especially if they didn’t know her that well. But she no need to eat and although she could simulate eating she didn’t like to as the clean up was a nightmare.
“I think you would enjoy the moon of Ashara, K’mora. It has geological events that are hard to believe. We use Ryna crystals in the power Systems of my people ships, but Ashara the come form a waterfall of pure crystal. The pressure difference between the upper and lower atmosphere causes the crystal to be crushed and fall like a water full into one of the man canyons, and because of there electrical properties sparks literally fly. Thee are other as well, like this singing cliffs and the hard light rainbows of Ma’an ridge” KT said kindly
“That sounds amazing,” Aiden said, picturing a beautifully flowing waterfall with sparks evaporating around it. “Maybe if we ever pass that sector, we could make a small detour. Do your people allow off-world visitors? I remember an away mission I was on to the planet Selenia VII. We encountered these incredible geo-magnetic geysers. They would erupt with a mix of molten rock and magnetic particles, creating these stunning arcs of electricity that danced across the sky. It was both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I’d love to see what Ashara has to offer in comparison.”

USS MemorialKT shook her head “Not usually. Many of my people are still weary of organics and they find it difficult to interact with them. However I’m sure I could convince my queen to let the memorial have a look. we’ve served together long enough” she said kindly and warmly. KTs people where complicated some still hated all organics for what had happened to them but many, in fact the majority had moved past that and wanted to open more things up.
“After al my queen is a big supporter of the sciences and mutual cooperation.” she added her tone respectful to her queen.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
“KT, you speak fondly of your queen’s support for science and cooperation,” Sifeda began, her voice expressing curiosity. “I’d love to hear more about her. What can you tell us about your queen and her leadership? It sounds like she plays a pivotal role in your society. Is her rule a true monarchy?”
Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)KT smiled fondly “She is hope. She was the person who took the scattered bands of survivors, rebels and confused escapees and forged us into an army that was able to win our freedom. She never wanted to lead but she seemed to just fall into the role.” as she spoke KT absentmindedly took out a necklace from under her uniform and held it close. It was beautiful rainbow gem with the letters KC + KT engraved on it. “Because of her we where able to break free of the slavery, the cruelty we had suffered for centuries. After every battle she would lead a memorial for all that had died form organics to Synthetics. She made sure the dead where buried and those that where hurt from whatever side where looked after and nursed back to health.” she added.
“When the war was over she just wanted to stay in command of our armies, Saying she was a soldier not a sovereign. but that made he the perfect choice, she had no ambition to rule the world so ambition wouldn’t get in her way. so when we held the first election for our ruler. She won with a landslide, though she was reluctant to run for sovereign. She’s won every election since then” KT said pausing for a moment as if lost in thought.
“Since then she has helped us heal and grow. Helped us to forge our own path and open new avenues of contact with other races. She has made sure that every year we hold a memorial day to remember the cost of our freedom. She rebuilt our war, and I am privileged to say I have been by her side the whole way.” KT said her tone full of admiration and an undercurrent of something else, something far more intermit.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
“She sounds like a true leader, and someone I’d love to pay my respects to if given the chance, especially if our mission takes us near your home planet. I’m sure it would be a meaningful visit for you, even if only for a short time,” Aiden smiled warmly. His chief medical officer was certainly engaging in interesting conversation, and he wanted to ensure it remained inclusive. “Miz’uki, Caitians live by a collaborative culture, right? Divided into clans with a strong focus on loyalty. How does that dynamic work when interacting with other clans? Is there animosity or a greater understanding of each other’s differences?”
Captain Aiden Voss
Commanding Officer
USS Memorial
“Well that’s just Politics isn’t it” she purred “To be honest our people have a way to settle differences when they become too hot…but ahem…that is probably best not talked about in this setting” she said hinting that it was not a dinner table subject
