Subject: Casual Gathering in the Mess Hall: Getting to Know Each Other

Dear Junior Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers,

As we embark on our journey aboard the USS Memorial, I would like to invite you to a casual gathering in the Mess Hall. This will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and to break the proverbial bottle as we start this new adventure together.

Time: 1700
Location: Mess Hall

There’s no formal agenda for this gathering – just good company, light conversation, a few special cocktails and perhaps a few laughs. I believe it’s important for us to build camaraderie and foster a sense of community among all members of our crew.

I look forward to meeting each of you and to the camaraderie that will undoubtedly develop as we journey through the stars together.

As Aiden entered the Mess Hall, he was greeted by the welcoming aroma of freshly prepared food and the sight of several pitchers of drinks arranged neatly on a table. The room was buzzing with the chatter of junior officers and non-commissioned officers mingling and getting to know each other.

Aiden made his way over to the buffet-style food setup, where an array of dishes awaited. There were trays of finger foods, sandwiches, salads, and various desserts, all laid out invitingly for the crew to enjoy. The enticing spread promised a delightful evening.

With a warm smile, Aiden began to mingle with the crew, engaging in casual conversation and making everyone feel welcome. He poured himself a drink from one of the pitchers and began to seek out his next conversation.

Sifeda stepped into the Mess Hall her hands behind her back as usual. When she saw Aiden, she decided to step out of her comfort zone and attempt to make a joke to start a conversation with him. “Am I invited to this event as well?” she quipped, her tone light and teasing as she made her way over to him.

Sifeda joined him near the buffet, her eyes sweeping over the assortment of dishes laid out before them. “Quite the spread they’ve put out,” she remarked, reaching for a plate and beginning to fill it with an assortment of food. “I must admit, Captain, if I had a weakness it would definitely be food. I love all kinds of food and what better way to bring people together by offering food and the opportunity to participate in idle conversation?”

As Thalia entered the mess hall, she gracefully moved through the room, engaging in conversations with various officers until her eyes landed on Captain Voss. She maneuvered through the crowd until she stood beside him. To her surprise, Commander Itri was also present chatting with him, a fact she had missed because the room was so crowded. Offering a swift nod and greeting to the Commander, she turned her attention back to Captain Voss. “Captain,” she began with enthusiasm, “this event you’ve organized is truly exceptional. I’m honored to be a part of it. By the way, do you happen to remember me?”
