The hum of consoles and the soft glow of starship displays greeted Lieutenant John Tolly as he stepped onto the bridge. His heart raced, a mix of anticipation and duty. The USS Memorial was his new home, and he was ready to serve.

The crew moved with purpose, their uniforms crisp and their focus unwavering. John’s gaze swept across the room: the helmsman at the controls, the science officer huddled over data, and the communications officer relaying messages.

The Lt. walked over to the Captain snaping to attention waiting to be acknowledged.

Lt. John Tolly COO

OOC: I’ll take this. I believe it’s customary to check in with the XO first :)

IC: Sifeda turned her head in the direction of Lieutenant John Tolly as he approached, while she rarely smiled, her eyes met his with a friendly acknowledgment. She observed his crisp uniform, noting the determination and anticipation in his eyes. As he snapped to attention, she admired his dedication to duty.

“At ease, Lieutenant,” she said, “Welcome aboard the USS Memorial. Reporting in?”

She looked at the chronometer on her console and said, “It looks like your timing is impeccable, the shifts are changing. Why don’t we take a walk?”

Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)

John nodded matching his steps with that of the XO

“Aye Commander”

Sifeda returned John’s nod with a slight tilt of her head, indicating for him to follow as she strode off the bridge and into the turbolife. As the lift came to a stop, she stepped out her boots making muted thuds against the metallic floor.

She glanced at John from the corner of her eye, assessing him silently as they walked. “So, Lieutenant,” she began, “tell me about yourself. What brings you to the Memorial?” While she had confidence in his abilities as a future Operations officer, her own background in security training allowed her to recognize the traits of a Security officer in him.

(Executive Officer)

John tilted his head a bit following the Commander out of the turbolift.

“Well, My dad father was or..still is actually an admiral and my mother worked in the diplomatic corp, spending time representing my home world of Alpha Centuari on the Federation Council”

He chuckled

“My parents were slightly disappointed when i didn’t follow the traditional Command path that most of our family has taken., as for why i’m here?”

He gave a slight shrug

“my previous posting was as an assistant operation officer, my commanding officer felt i was ready to take the next step and saw that the Memorial had an opening”

Chief Operations Officers

Sifeda listened as John spoke, his words painting a picture of a well-connected upbringing within the Federation. She noted the slight tilt of his head, a gesture she recognized as a sign of respect. His background intrigued her, particularly the mix of military and diplomatic lineage, a combination that could prove valuable in his role aboard the Memorial.
“An admiral and a diplomat,” she mused quietly, nodding in acknowledgment. “That must have been an interesting household to grow up in. Your parents’ disappointment in your chosen path may have been inevitable, given their expectations, but it seems you’ve carved out your own journey regardless.”

Her steps echoed faintly in the corridor as they continued onward, the steady rhythm of their movement punctuating the conversation. Sifeda’s gaze remained focused ahead, but her attention was fully on John, studying his demeanor and responses for any insights into his character.

“As for the Memorial,” she continued, her tone thoughtful, “it’s a vessel with a unique history and purpose. Your experience as an assistant operations officer will serve you well here. But remember, this ship demands more than just operational efficiency. It requires adaptability, resourcefulness, and a keen awareness of the delicate balance between diplomacy and security.”

She paused, turning to face him directly, her expression serious yet welcoming. “We face challenges both within and beyond Federation borders, Lieutenant. Are you prepared to take them on?”

Commander Itri
*(Executive Officer)

*With a respectful nod, he addresses Commander Itri. “Commander, your insight is as sharp as they say. Growing up with an admiral and a diplomat for parents, I’ve learned a thing or two about the subtleties of command and negotiation.

He offers a wry smile, acknowledging the unconventional path he’s taken.*”They might have had other plans for me, but serving on the Memorial, it’s where I’m meant to be. This ship has a legacy, and I’m here to honor it.

His expression turns earnest as he speaks of the ship and its mission. “I’m not just here to follow orders; I’m here to anticipate them. To be the officer you need on the bridge, ready for whatever this galaxy throws our way.

He extends his hand, a gesture of solidarity and readiness to embark on their shared journey. “I’m all in.”

Cheif Opperation Officer

Sifeda noted the sincerity in his words and the determination. His background hinted at a complex upbringing, one that had instilled in him a unique blend of skills and perspectives.
As John extended his hand in solidarity she clasped his hand firmly, her grip conveying both reassurance and expectation.
“Welcome aboard, Lieutenant Tolly,” she said, her voice carrying some warmth beneath its professional tone. “Your dedication and resolve are evident, qualities that will serve us well.”
With a nod of affirmation, Sifeda released his hand and gestured toward the direction of the bridge. “Let’s not keep the Memorial waiting any longer. Duty calls, and I have every confidence that you’re more than ready to answer.”
Turning back to the corridor, Sifeda led the way, her steps purposeful as they made their way toward the heart of the ship.

Commander Itri
(Executive Officer)

John walked alongside her, matching her pace as they made their way down the hallway. “I’m curious about how my role will evolve compared to my duties on my previous ship,” he remarked casually, a smirk playing on his lips. “Back there, my main tasks involved recalibrating sensor arrays and maintaining the transporter buffers.”
