As the Memorial sped towards their destination the proximity alert on both the science and tactical stations blinked drawing the attention of any good officer.

As the proximity alert blipped on the science console, Thalia’s fingers were fixed over the controls, instinctively initiating a scan of the surrounding space. “Captain…Comander,” Thalia called out, her voice steady but clearly excited, “we’ve picked up something on the sensors. Not sure what it is or the magnitude yet.”

“Lets ere on the side of caution, Commander?” Voss said looking to his new second in command expectedly, he had some idea of what the signals were but he wanted to see how his crew reacted to an unknown entity, to them at least.

Nearby…

In the cockpit of his fighter, Marcus, a skilled pilot among the squadron, communicated with Little Sehlet, the commander of the air group, who piloted another fighter nearby. They eagerly awaited the arrival of the USS Memorial, preparing to put on a spectacular display for their new ship. “Orion to Little Sehlet,” Marcus’ voice crackled over the comm channel, carrying a note of anticipation. “The USS Memorial is coming into range. All fighters are reporting that they are in position and ready to engage.”

The captain’s voice broke through her thoughts and Sifeda glanced toward him, “Agreed, Captain,” Sifeda replied, her tone confident, “we should proceed with caution until we have more information. However, I do recommend bringing shields to full power, just in case....”
As she spoke, she got up from her chair, the one that was right next to the captain, went to the tactical station, began inputting commands, and fine-tuning the sensors to gather as much information as possible.

“Very well, let’s drop out of warp,” Aiden declared, his voice firm but calm. “Initiate a silent yellow alert. This will be a perfect opportunity for us to assess the crew’s response time.”

With purposeful movements, Aiden rose from his seat, his posture conveying authority and confidence. He interlaced his fingers behind his back, a familiar stance that signalled his readiness to take charge. As he surveyed the bridge, his gaze swept over the crew, silently observing their reactions to the change in protocol.

“Keep a close eye on the sensors,” he instructed, addressing the crew. “I want to know the moment anything out of the ordinary comes up. This may be nothing, but let’s treat it with the seriousness it deserves.” With a nod to his officers, Aiden signalled his readiness to proceed, his determination evident in his every gesture. It was time to put the crew’s training to the test and ensure they were prepared for any eventuality that might arise in their journey through the stars.

OOC: All stations report in.

Sifeda nodded in acknowledgment of the captain’s instructions. She adjusted the shields, ensuring maximum protection for the ship, while simultaneously configuring the sensors for optimal performance. Despite the calm facade she projected, Sifeda’s mind filling with calculations and diffent scenariosin which the situation could play out.

As the ship dropped out of warp and the yellow alert status was initiated, Sifeda said to Captain Voss, ” Captain while its not clear what we may encounter, could just be a natural phenomenon, such as a spatial anomaly or gravitational disturbance. However it is most likely an unknown vessel, perhaps rouge space pirates. They have been know to ambush Federation ship’s, sir.”

The sleek fighter craft, cutting through the fabric of space like knives, dropped out of warp right on the Memorial’s doorstep. Maruc, piloting one of the lead ships, felt the exhilaration of the sudden deceleration ripple through his craft. With practiced precision, he maneuvered his fighter into position, the Memorial looming larger with each passing moment.

As the fighters dispersed, each pilot executing their designated role with finesse, Maruc’s gaze darted between his fellow pilots and the looming silhouette of the Memorial. Two ships corkscrewed around each other in a mesmerizing dance, a testament to their pilots’ skill and coordination. Meanwhile, the other fighters formed a formation that resembled wings, a symbolic gesture of solidarity and strength.

Maruc’s heart raced with adrenaline as he guided his fighter into position, the thrum of the engines echoing through the cockpit. Despite the tension of the moment, there was a sense of camaraderie among the pilots, a shared understanding of the importance of their mission and the trust they placed in each other.

With a silent nod to his fellow pilots, Maruc prepared to execute their next maneuver, his focus unwavering as they prepared to make their presence known to the USS Memorial.

“Commander, deactivate Red Alert status,” Aiden instructed, his tone calm yet firm. “That was quite an engaging drill, and I apologize for not keeping you informed. However, I suggest we activate the main viewscreen. It seems Wing Squadron 108 is performing some impressive maneuvers. Let’s allow them a moment to showcase their skills before guiding them to land safely in the bay and resuming our course.”

Sifeda executed his command with a nod. As the red alert status was deactivated, she swiftly complied, deactivating the shields and reconfiguring the sensors to their standard settings. Turning to the viewscreen, she watched Wing Squadron 108 executed their maneuvers. Their precision and coordination were impressive, showing off their training and skill. Glancing back at Captain Voss, Sifeda said, “Well that was quite a turn of events. I initiate the protocols for welcoming Wing Squadron 108 on the ship.”

Aiden nodded appreciatively, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. “Indeed, it’s important to balance training with our operational schedule,” he agreed. “Ensure they receive the complete onboarding brief, so they understand the full scope of their responsibilities.” His tone was light, laced with a touch of humor. “We wouldn’t want them to think they’re the bee’s knees just yet,” he added with a chuckle. Turning to the helm officer, he issued the command with confidence. “Helm, set a course for our original heading, maximum warp. Punch it.”
