Aiden entered through the open doors of the sickbay, the familiar scent of antiseptic and medical equipment greeting him as he stepped inside. He glanced around the bustling medical bay, his gaze settling on the figure of Lieutentnat KT-QT, the ship’s Chief Medical Officer, as she attended to a patient. With purposeful strides, Aiden waited patiently for her to be finished before addressing her.

“Be with you in a moment Captain.” KT said without looking at him a she finished closing the last cut on NE Crumples leg. “There all sorted. I want you to rest for the remainder of the day and make sure that legs strong before returning to your duties. If you DH as an issue feel free to tell them to speak to me.” she said her tone warm and kind.

The young ensign nodded and slowly got off the bio bed “Thank you Ma’am” he said as she slowly walked away.

Finally KT turned to the captain “Sorry about that Sir. But the patient always comes first.” she said her tine still warm and kind “What can I do for you Sir?” she asked as she gestured to the now empty Bio-bed.

Sifeda entered the sickbay. Her eyes scanned the room, quickly settling on Captain Aiden Voss engaged in conversation with Lieutenant KT-QT, the ship’s Chief Medical Officer. A pang of awkwardness prickled at her, but she chose to shrug it off.

Aiden was on the brink of responding to the chief medical officer when the doors behind him swished open, revealing his executive officer. He couldn’t help but find the timing somewhat amusing. It seemed to be a recurring pattern in Starfleet: command officers tended to avoid interactions with the ship’s medical staff unless it was a matter of life or a direct order. Yet here they were, with most of the ship’s command team gathered in one place.

The irony wasn’t lost on Aiden as he observed the situation with a wry smile. It was a testament to the unique dynamics of their crew and the unpredictability of shipboard life.

“Well, well, Captain, fancy meeting you here,” she quipped, striding towards them with her hands clasped behind her back. Her voice carried a blend of forced casualness and underlying nervousness. Avoiding direct eye contact with Aiden, she scanned the bustling medical bay. “It seems we’re drawn to the same place today. What are the odds?” She then turned her attention to KT-QT. “How often do you get to treat both the Captain and the XO in one day, Doctor?”

KT smiled at the XO “Usually if I’m seeing both the XO and Co, then nothing short of a disaster has befallen the ship. The last time I had to treat both high ranking officers was when my people saved the USS Hope” she said warmly. The USS Hope was a medical ship that was attacked by a group of pirate ships. It was only the intervention of KT’s people that saved the ship form destruction and its crew form slavery. It was also the first time the federation had seen the fire power of Terraianian vessels. It was noted as sight to be hold. The incident however did open the doors for the Terraian and federation alliance the twos powers enjoyed now.

Aiden chuckled, casting a glance between his second-in-command and the doctor. “Well, Doctor, it seems we’ve managed to make it through the day without any major incidents. Just two senior officers looking to get their onboarding medical check-ups sorted.” He paused for a moment before continuing, “I trust you won’t have any trouble conducting both examinations simultaneously?”

Aiden’s curiosity about KT-QT’s augmented background piqued his interest, and he couldn’t help but feel intrigued by the possibilities it presented.

KT smiled “Easily Captain. You see, as soon as you both entered I had scanned you, checked your medical records with the ships computer and downloaded the necessary information. All before you spoke your first word” she said her tone warm. KT wasn’t bragging she was just trying ton reassure the Captain that she was up to the task. In reality she could be performing surgery on one person, sorting out the medication for another and advising her staff on how to treat another.

“If you’d both like to sit on those bio beds. I can get the formal stuff out of the way” she said as she gestured to two empty Bio beds.
