Aiden stepped into the main science offices, the hum of machinery and the soft glow of consoles filling the room. As he glanced around, he noted the organized chaos of scientific instruments and data displays, a testament to the diligent work of the crew. His eyes scanned the room, searching for the familiar figure of the Chief Science Officer amidst the bustling activity.

Spotting a group of scientists engaged in a discussion near the central console, Aiden approached them with purpose. Clearing his throat to announce his presence, he addressed the group in a calm but authoritative tone.

“Good afternoon,” he greeted, his voice carrying across the room. “I’m looking for the Chief Science Officer. Could anyone point me in their direction?”

Thalia glanced up from her datapad as Captain Aiden Voss entered the science offices. She watched him with curiosity, her attention momentarily drawn away from the calculations she had been poring over.
As he approached her a group of other scientists, Thalia straightened in her seat, curious to see what brought the captain to their domain. As he inquired about the Chief Science Officer, her mind went through possible reasons for his visit. Was there a new development in their research? Or perhaps a mission directive that required their expertise?

“Good afternoon, Captain,” Thalia greeted respectfully. She offered him a polite smile, though inwardly she was analyzing every possible reason for his visit. “I am not sure where the Chief Science Officer is but, is there anything I can do to assist you today?”

He offered a friendly smile. “That’s quite alright, Ensign. Honestly, I’m just here to get acquainted with the crew. Since the ship’s chief science officer is unavailable, perhaps you could give me a tour of your science facilities until they return? By the way, what’s your name?” he asked, his tone warm and welcoming.

“Of course, Captain,” she replied, her voice steady despite the anxiety that was building inside the pit of her stomach. “I’m Ensign Summerhill, pleased to meet you.” Rising from her seat, she gestured for him to follow her. “I’d be happy to give you a tour of our facilities. Follow me.” She said with a smile as she began leading the way. ” Anything in particular you are interested in seeing?” she asked.
