in one of the larger Quarters a pair of Caitians moved boxes and things around, getting moved into the new quarters one was in Civilian clothes while the other was in a starfleet uniform the one in Civilian clothes was mostly grey with yellow and brown mixed in the officer had a mix of Yellow Orange Brown Black White and grey in her fur pattern a yellow spot on her forehead was a distinct feature she set a box down and looked at the Civilian who was arranging some flowers in a vase “Im sorry my love I know you really wanted to settle down” Miz’uki Purred

“Its Ok love this time I am with you I knew that you were getting restless not being out here It’s fine Hopefully things will be stable enough that we can still start our family on this ship” K’mora said getting up and wrapping herself around Miz’uki they held each other for a time before Miz’uki sighed “Well I best go see the captain and report in” pulling away she asked “You going to be ok in here for now?” K’Mora nodded and turned to continue unpacking

Miz’uki turned and left the quarters and started down the Corridor she had not met the AI yet though she knew these Memorial Classes had an ENTITY AI unit “AI please Introduce yourself I’m Lieutenant Commander Miz’uki” she said

“Good morning, Lieutenant Commander Miz’uki,” Maizie’s voice echoed through the corridor, “I trust you have rested well and are prepared for the day’s duties.” It responded in its somewhat feminine human but all-familiar mechanical tone. “I’m Mazie, the ship’s Artificial intelligence system. I am here to ensure the smooth functioning of onboard systems and provide support to the crew in their missions,” Maizie continued, her virtual presence permeating the corridor. “Please don’t hesitate to relay any inquiries or commands. It is my primary directive to assist you in any way possible.”

“Its nice to meet you Maizie tell me where is the captain right now I need to check in and then get my other boarding checks done” she purred clearly interested in this new bit of tech “I do hope we become good friends as well” she added making it clear she was not afraid of the AI and was going to be one of the few who actually treated an AI unit as a being and not a computer program

“It is nice to meet you too Lieutenant Commander, I hope we can be friends too though I am not capable of feeling emotions I am capable of making logical relationships and while I do not feel a sense of friendship I am programmed to respond to the crews needs when requested which has been described by some of the crew as a friendship, As per your request Captain Aiden Voss is on the bridge. Would you like me to show you the quickest route?” MAZIE replied.

“From what I have been reading on the ENTITY AI you can develop emotions eventually and such based on your interactions with the crew so we will work on that and get you feeling true friendship eventually” she said “However yes please show me the way Thank you very much!” the Caitian added her tail swishing back and forth eagerly

However, Captain Voss has requested that I temporarily deactivate my self-aware and learning capabilities until he has had the opportunity to fully understand my being,” it explained in a neutral tone, devoid of expression. “He felt it necessary to explain that he had trust issues that he hopes to work through, and that you may be able to help him.”

“The route is displayed on the wall console as purple arrows. Is there anything else I can assist you with, Lieutenant Commander?”
