After settling her belongings and experiencing a rush of emotions, Andromeda heeded the advice of the Operations crewman and decided to check in with her department head. “Computer,” she called out, initiating her inquiry.

=^= Awaiting Query =^= responded the LCARS system with its somewhat robotic yet human-like voice.

“Please locate Commander Janzen.”

=^= Commander Janzen, chief science officer of the USS Memorial, is currently in his office on Deck 4. Awaiting Query =^=

“Please display the quickest route to his office.”

=^= Calculating. The route will be displayed as blue arrows, and consoles will activate in the proximity of Ensign Lykaios’s comm signature. Awaiting Query =^=

“No, thank you, computer,” she responded, opting instead to use the nearest wall console. True to the system’s word, a small blue arrow appeared in the navigation section, indicating the direction she needed to travel. “Here goes nothing,” she muttered, taking a step forward with determination.

Navigating the ship’s corridors, Andromeda soon arrived at the Commander’s office. The Pendragon-class vessel’s compact size and efficient turbo-lift system made the journey swift. Pausing briefly to adjust her uniform, she pressed the door chime, hoping that Commander Janzen was still available.

BJ was in his office. He was currently reconnecting with home. He was always reconnecting with family and friends when he had the time off. That was the hard part of being out here. He heard the chime at the door.

As the door slid open to grant her entrance, Ande stepped into the commander’s office. Though she wasn’t particularly tall herself, she couldn’t help but notice that the Commander, seated behind his desk, was actually shorter than she had anticipated. In her mind’s eye, she had imagined him as a towering figure, adorned with gleaming commander pips and impeccably polished shoes, casting a shadow over her. But in reality, he appeared decidedly human. “Commander, as per Regulation 3-11, I am presenting myself to you, my Department Head. I just recently arrived from Starfleet Academy.” She added in explanation.
