Aza watched as the shuttle, that had brought her from the USS Leviathan to where she was stand now, departed from the shuttle bay. When the ship was out of site, she turned and headed for the nearest turbo lift. All she carried with her was a standard Starfleet duffle bag which she had hoisted on her left shoulder. She wasn’t exactly sure where she was going or who she would run into because she didn’t have an itinerary, however she knew the typical boarding routine was to go to medical, check-in with her Department Head, and go see the Counselor. What to do first.. she thought as she boarded the lift. “Computer take me to Sickbay.” She’d made her decision just that fast. Best to the the one you like the least out of the way first. It wasnt that she didn’t like doctors and nurses, what she disliked were the medical exams. The hum of the tricorder in her ear was irritating. All of the questions were redundant. When the lift came to halt, she exited and saw a suite that couldn’t be mistaken. There were a few patients about with what seemed like minor ailments. “Ah, hey,” she waved her hand in the air, “I just arrived on the ship and I am here for my boarding exam.”Ensign Aza, Security
KT looked up from the person she was working on and smiled “Just a minute” she aid she she looked back down and finished her task “There Fixed. Now the next time you try to pick a fight don’t do it with the wall.” she said sternly as the ensign nodded and left.
Once she was satisfied KT got up and walked over to the new arrival. She was programmed to read even the tiniest pieces of body language and she could tell that her new patient was not a huge fan of sick b ay. Why exactly was difficult to tell but she figured she might as well tr to find out.
“I’m Lieutenant KT-QT the chief medical officer” she said extending her hand to the new arrival “If there’s anything i can do to make your visit more comfortable please let me know” she added her tone kind and warm.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
“Comfortable? In sick bay?” she said as she took Lieutenant KT-QT’s hand. “It sounds like I am being placed under hospice care.” She joked. After a brief assessment of the room, Aza concluded it wasn’t too bad. Everything looked orderly and clean. “So where do you want me she asked as she removed her duffle from her shoulder. Do I have to get any hypospray shots? I hope not. I really hate those things. My skin always gets irritated at the site of injection.”
Ensign Aza, Security
“It’s not that bad.” KT as she started to scan Aza “As for the hypo, not unless you test for something that needs treating with one. But if you have issue with hypos. I have a few other things I can sue to administer any medication.” She said her tone unchanging
“Like what?” she asked. She had read about those archaic needles with the pointy ends that some old civilizations still utilized. There was not way she was going to let any one of those come close to her.
KT picked up a silver and white triangle, attached to which was a cylinder similar to the bottom of a hypo spray “This is a mister. we use it on infants and those that have tough skin. It transform any medication into a mist that you inhale. It works just as fast as a hypo, but it doesn’t touch the skin in anyway shape or form.” she said reassuringly.
“Ohh…”, she said as shenstudied it. It looked harmless enough. Then she smiled, “You doctors have a solution for almost anything.”
Kt smile back “We try” she said playfully.
“However if you are getting irritation at the site of injection we may have to look into that. Hypo’s are designed to be completely unobtrusive and unable to cause any issues.” she said simply as he worked
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
“Yeah, the area of injection is always itchy afterward. I know it’s minor but it’s really annoying.” After a slight pause, she said, “I take it you have my medical records. I am a joined Trill. So far, besides the hypospray issue, I have not had any real issues. If you don’t mind, I’d like to make sure my symbiont is well, especially after the long shuttle ride here. I did get a bit queasy after I boarded but it only lasted for a minute or so.”

“I’m already checking them” Kt said kindly, the whole idea of joined trill fascinated KT. Two organic beings living in a perfect symbiosis with each other, was truly remarkable. It was the closest think to her species communicating when they where plugged in as KT could find.
“If I may ask, are you newly joined? Because sometime new joining’s can cause queasiness for few week after it, but it slowly dies down” she said checking her scans.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
I am recently joined. By recent I mean about a couple of years now. I had some problems at first. Had to take from time away from Starfleet to adjust but I am back and I feel much better and more confident than I have ever felt.”
“From what I’ve read that’s naturally. After all you have inherited several lifetimes worth of experiences, i can’t imagine there’s much that would give you pause.” KT said kindly and reassuringly.
“Thank you. I think you are the first being I have encountered who truly understands.”
“It seems no matter how much people try to make other see them as better, or understanding so few try to genuinely understand. It makes me wounder if we all tried to understand more maybe things would be a bit easier.” she said her tone contemplative.
She smiled and said, “I have not seen your species before and there’s no memory stored in the memories of my symbiont either. You have skin that could be akin an Orion, but you are not, are you? What ever you are, it’s a beautiful species.”
Aza, Security
bump“Thank you. while I was designed to be attractive to a certain group of people. I’ve tried to grow past that and it nice to hear its paying off” she said her tone still happy.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
Aza found the doctors response intriguing “Designed? Were you genetically modified? I have heard of some species that were built on genetic modifications but I had never believed it. I guess it’s no different from having a being surgically placed inside your body and gaining all their past knowledge and experiences, huh?” She said with a chuckle.
Aza, Security
KT shook her head. She had expected her unique circumstance to be common knowledge. But clearly star fleet was capable of being far more subtle then she first thought. “I’m not genetically modified. In fact I’m not organic at all.” KT said simply “Myself and all of my people are synthetics, Androids if you like, although we prefer the term synthetic.” she explained.
Lieut KT-QT (CMO)
“Ah you are a synthetic,” said Aza with raised eyebrows. “It’s amazing how far the technology that developed has come. I would have never guessed on my own. So what is a synthetic doing on a starship, head of the medical department? Did you even have to go through the Academy? I mean what could they teach you that you do not already know?”
Aza, Security.
KT smiled at Aza it was refreshing to see someone who was so eager to learn things “The federation is looking fore an alliance with my people, we have resources and technology star fleet could only dreams of. However given my people’s history with Organics, my people where reluctant to jump in straight away. So 12 of us where chosen, by our queen, to join star fleet and other parts of the federation to learn about the federation and then report back our findings. This data will allow us to decide weather we should continue with the alliance or leave it.” she said pausing for a moment
“So yes I went to star fleet academy I was there for only a year though. The idea was for us to start form the bottom and work our way up. I was then assigned to my first ship and worked up the4 ranks until I was promoted and made the chief medical officer of the Memorial, and here I am.” she added.
Lieut (j.g) KT-QT (CMO)
Aza listened, intrigued by KT’s history. “That’s an interesting arrangement. It seems like your people have taken a cautious approach to forming an alliance with the federation. By sending representatives like yourself to learn about the federation firsthand, your queen can make an informed decision. It’s a wise strategy.” One might do if they wanted to scope out the competition as well. Aza thought to herself. She could help but think this being apart of the security team. However going of her instincts, she didn’t think KT had any nefarious intentions and she trusted her.
“Its impressive that you went through Starfleet Academy and worked your way up the ranks like any other officer,” Aza continued. “Even though you have advanced knowledge and abilities as a synthetic, you’ve chosen to gain practical experience within Starfleet. That speaks volumes about your commitment and willingness to integrate with us organics.”
“I imagine your unique perspective and skills must be valuable in the medical department,” Aza remarked. “With your extensive knowledge, you can provide insights and approaches that others might not consider. How have you found the experience so far? Have there been any challenges or surprises along the way?”
