Tralla entered the briefing room as a call came into the Memorial Maizie automatically rerouting it to the Briefing room for the captain

=^= Commander Nalor to USS Memorial, please can you give me an ETA on your arrival? Our situation is becoming desperate. =^=

=^=”Memorial to Commander Nalor This is Captain Zoarhi We are on the way ETA 1 hour we are coming hang in there!”=^= Tralla replied her antenna curling as the situation became dire she however continued to wait for her Senior Staff to arrive for the meeting

Tralla

Nalor breathed a sigh of relief, she was deeply troubled by recent events but she was thankful that she would soon have assistance. As much as she loved her job, she was a scientist and she had never expected she would have to be dealing with an armed conflict or a saboteur, let alone at the same time. The relief was obvious in her voice.

=^= Thank you Captain Zoarhi, you don’t know how glad I am to hear that, I look forward to meeting you. =^= she replied gladly.

KT was the first to arrive in the conference room. She wondered what the new mission would involve but she figured she would find out soon enough. Entering the room she looked at the captain and nodded smiling as he did “Captain” she said respectfully and warmly. She then looked at one oft he screens in the conference room and nodded her head “Maizie. Hope you’re staying out of trouble” she said playfully.

Lieut (j.g.) KT-QT (CMO)

After the CO, XO, and COS had arrived, sure. Lieutenant Beckett had followed right on the heels of the two most senior officers on the ship and was already seated at the table, watching them like a hawk. (Per the previous main sim bridge thread) She gave the doctor a wary look but said nothing.

OOC: Guess I posted this in the wrong thread. need to update.

Ciaran saw the captain come out of the ready room. He heard her say to meet in the Briefing Room. He went ahead and nodded at the NLt and stood up and walked to the Ready Room. He believed he was the first one there after the Captain. He looked around to see who else was there. He nodded to the captain and said, “Hello Captain. As request, I am here. ” Ciaran went ahead and walked over to the chair near the Captain and sat down. He did see the CMO (as he had meet her during his medical evaluation) so he was 100% sure who KT was. He waited for the others to show up. He was very interested into what the upcoming mission was going to bring. He knew something was going on.

OOC Murging posts

She nodded at KT, and Commander Donoghuei, Maizie however spoke projecting herself as the simple orb with its waveform display mouth, onto the middle of the table in the room. “Lieutenant KT-QT, you should know I never get into trouble. currently my development is not quite at the level of free will most biological beings have, you as a fellow artificial should know that we artificial lifeforms are held to a much higher standard besides.” the AI said simply, Tralla sniggered given what had just happened in her ready room. Barging in on her conversation with the Admiral, at the mention of AI research was the definition of trouble! The orb turned as if it were looking at Tralla, who was standing by a screen mounted on the wall leaning against said wall casually. “I am not sure what is funny captain, I only stated a fact?” Maizie responded Tralla shook her head but did not say anything in response.

KT smiled “You’ll learn, causing a little trouble is how we keep the organics on their toes” she said playfully.

Tralla

“Can we move this along,” Maria said sharply. “We’re on a pretty short clock with whatever is going on out there, and there’s probably a lot to do between now and when we get there.” This sounded like an emergency situation, and while humor and levity were good ideas, this wasn’t really the moment. Time was ticking down and getting to whatever needed doing was better to be done sooner, rather than later.

Lt Beckett, COS/CIO/CAG

The CE finally arrived in the room shortly after Beckett finished speaking. “Sorry I’m late, got held up in engineering.” He said, quickly sitting down in an available seat. He fumbled with his fingers and a PADD, flustered as if he ran to the room.

Lieutenant Bol Th’arhosren (CE)

Ciaran though it was quite interesting that a department head would come in and somewhat demand what the captain was doing and being in a hurry. Ciaran understood things needed to be done but rushing a commanding officer (or anyone above you) seems to be somewhat rude. But he did not say anything but needed to take a mental not to see what the captain thought of what he was noticing. There was always urgency but it just seemed a little offensive but maybe this was the normal way things ran. This is why he wanted to speak to the captain privately before calling anyone out. Ciaran nodded at the officers as they came in and sat down. Ciaran was very interested to see what was going on with this new mission as he had not heard much but knew something was coming. He just waited for the rest of the senior staff to show up so the captain could begin.

Kadance had followed the Captain into the briefing room, but then slid to the side to watch the others enter. She would be sitting plenty for the rest of the day and chose to lean on the wall and watch.

As the officers trickled in, she smiled at the banter. Most knew one another for quite a while and their easiness together spoke well of that fact.

Then Lieutenant Beckett entered and her smile dropped a touch before returning to it’s place. It was curious that anyone would come in nearly demanding to hurry things along. She would speak to the Captain before saying anything. But she was of two minds… one, that this was normal. If that was the case, then she might beseech the Captain to change that. Allowing one DH to appear to run roughshod was one thing. But it would give others ideas. That wasn’t a good thing.

And two, if it wasn’t normal, then she would need to have a private conversation with the Security Chief to find out what the trouble was. Either way, she remained silent, for now, and listened to the chatter around her.

She caught the look from the counselor and the XO both. Great. We’re about to potentially get into a shooting war with the Cardassians. And now I’m the A-hole and unprofessional one. She thought darkly as she tugged her uniform into place

BJ entered in the briefing room. He was feeling much better since his bout of flu. He sat in one of the remaining chairs.

Janzen

Once everyone was in the room Tralla stepped forward “Alright team this one is hot We have a Cardassian warship under the command of a Gul Torin breathing down the neck of the research station on Kabrel II he believes the station is conducting weapons research which it is not it is conducting AI Research” she explained “Our orders are to defuse the situation and make sure everything is going fine with the station we will secure the area…” The captain explained before turning to her Chief of Security first “Lieutenant Beckett I know you’re excited to get your people into action but please try to remember decorum and manners when it comes to the chain of command” she said giving a playful wink to show that she was not really bothered but still “I want a Combat Air Patrol set up once we deal with the Gul” she said

“XO I want an away team prepared I want you guys to beam down to the station and figure out how to best help them with any issues they are having Everyone else it’s status quo though if we need your expertise on the mission we will call obviously so stand by,” she said looking around at them all she then added one of her Antenna perking curiously “Any Questions?”

Tralla

Ciaran looked over at Tralla and nodded, “Is there a specific combination of folks you want me to take on the away mission or is it based on how I feel? I know the Counselor would be a good bet, since they have good experience with dealing with the way people feel. Please let me know.” Ciaran was ready to run an away mission as the XO. This would be his first and he needed to make sure things were going to be handled correctly and show he was trained for his position. He was excited and nervous at the same time. He had trained but doing the real thing was always different. Ciaran then asked, “Is there any specific information we have from the Cardassian’s on why they believe its a weapons manufacture and do we have logs on what the station actually does? Might be good to compare notes prior to getting to the situation.” He then waited for a response to his few questions.

Lt Cmdr Donoghuei
XO

KT’s interest had been peeked at the mention of AI. While she knew the federation was careful she also knew that AI handled wrongly would always end badly for those that did the mishandling. “Do we know to what extent they are researching AI?” she asked, she was worried that if the AI was advanced enough and saw the Cadassians as a threat, it might take matter into it own hands.

“Also i would like to volunteer for the way team. It would be good to have medical officer on the team just in case thins don’t go well with the Cardassian. And my knowledge of AI would be useful if anything untoward happened” she added respectfully .

Ciaran looked up at KT and said, “You were going to be the 2nd person on my list. Always good to follow up with the CMO to see who they want to send. I would have expected you to volunteer. This just saved me a stop. Thank you for speaking up.” Ciaran knew now he did not have to make a trip to the medical office to ask who wanted to join. He knew he needed to ask the security team who they wanted to join the away team. He then looked up at Lt Beckeet, “Lt Beckeet, who would you like to send with me? I would like to take a few security officers to the station.” He then waited for a response from both the Lts.

Lieut (j.g.) KT-QT (CMO)

She chewed the question over for a minute. “I can send Ensign Aza on the ground team, and Ensign Bragason for the CAP. A joined trill might come in handy in a pinch there, and Bragason is anxious to get some actual flight hours in. I can also send NE Green and NE Black with the away team and CAP, respectively. Meanwhile I can fill in on Memorial, the away team, or the CAP.” It was the most flexible and equitable solution she could think of, giving her newer people some experience. While she didn’t have as much time in a fighter as Lt Farren, growing up on a ship had allowed her to soak up some piloting skills, as well as her time in black ops. The rest was hard work, aptitude, leadership and understanding the tactics. Those were proving to come easier than she expected, in some ways. More difficult in others. Lots of options.

“Are we expecting any other threats, besides this Gul,” Maria asked. If yes, then knowing that would be good. If no, why establish a CAP after the fact, rather than when they arrived as a show of force.

“And do we know anything about the installations’ security posture?” At least with whatever they had on hand. Though T-minus 59 minutes wasn’t a long time to do any digging. Reaching into one thigh pocket she retrieved a PADD and began making notes, things she wanted to track, and updating flight ops. They’d need to be ready.

“And are you going to want me on the Memorial, with the CAP, or on the ‘ground’?” It was a tricky situation, tricky dynamic. Every one of the options had their pros and cons, as shown by the Eridion mission.

Lt Beckett, COS/CIO/CAG

“I leave you full discretion on team composition commander As for the CAP Lieutenant I want it set up just encase the Cardassians decide to try and pull some what is the human phrase? Shenanigans?” she said “If it looks like it’s going to be pointless to continue after a while your pilots are ordered to return to the memorial but stay on alert for a quick launch should something come up as for your other questions I’m guessing they have a rather standard security arrangement for a simple research base and I will leave where you will position yourself to yours and the Commanders discretion wherever you feel you can do the most good Lieutenant” she explained

Turning to KT She answered “Not sure on that You will have plenty of opportunity to look into it while you are part of the team” she said

“If that is all dismissed!” she said turning back to the screen which had the current mission info on it mainly featuring the profile of the Gul on it stroking her chin The Memorial was more than a match for a Keldon-class warship but what interested her is where this Gul got his hands on a Keldon. She had thought them all scrapped

Tralla

So far, BJ hadn’t been asked to go. Not that he minded that. The last away mission went a little off the rails. It be good to get a break and be on the ship. Of course, that also meant he’d be in the second seat. He was slowly becoming unopposed to that reality. At some point he’d have to take that spot anyway. Or he could do what he and his wife had discussed and went out on retirement.

Janzen

Maria glanced among the others to see if there was anything further.

With the general brief conducted, it was time for another briefing with her section. Getting to her feet, she grabbed her things and headed for the door.

Lt Beckett, COS/CIO/CAG

Kadence glanced around the room as everyone spoke. It was good to see they all were focused on the mission.

When everyone has started to get up and depart, she caught the XO. “Happy to join the team. I’m going to take at look at the personnel records of those running the station and a quick rundown of key personnel. Wouldn’t hurt to see if any red flags come up. One doesn’t just look at a station and assume weapons. Something, or someone, had hints or stated something, to someone, that got this weapons rumor started. I’ll see if I can figure anything out before we get there. Is there anything else you want me figuring out as well?”

Things in space didn’t just happen. Finding out if sometime was disgruntled, or just not fitting in may be the clue to how this had erupted.

Ciaran looked over the room to see what everyone was looking to potentially say. He then said to the captain, “Thank you for the orders. I am going to finish putting my team together and get to the transporter room when needed.” He then looked directly at the KT and the COS. He was hoping the COS would provide some security officers to go. He then stood up and wanted to make a quick stop at his quarters before heading to the transporter room. He said on his way out, “Lt KT and Lt Beckeet, we will be leaving from Transporter room 1. I will let you both know when we are ready to head over.
