Tyr had been on the Memorial for three days before he was assigned a timeslot with the ships Counselor. During his first years at the Academy, he’d been arrogantly dismissive of the services of a psychologist on a quasi-military ship. He’d been set straight by his older Brother during one of their semi-regular calls. Baldur scolded him rather severely and explained the importance of the mental health of Starfleet Officers, especially those who serve in a combat capacity. Since then he’d forced himself to be more openminded and had managed to mostly change his view although he didn’t have enough practical experience to know if it had worked.
Once he arrived he hit the chime and waited to be let in.“Ensign Tyr Bragason, Ma’am” He said, he’d managed to mostly get rid of the nervousness of being on a new ship, his first real assignment, so he spoke in what was his usual confident almost cock-sure voice “I have an appointment,” He said simply.
Ensign Tyr - Sec
A female voice hollered “Come on in” and the door whooshed open before him. What he would see wasn’t the usual cold, clinical room of a Counselor. The walls were not bare. A few odd weapons hung on the wall as well as various pictures. The themes tended towards travel and collections versus mere ‘eye candy’. And upon closer inspection, would find that the pictures were taken, not purchased. There was an intimacy in each scene, whether it was an ocean slamming against a column of rocks, or a small cafe area with shops around it.
The bookshelves held not just items, but actual books. There were three, but they were worn and hard to read as far as titles go unless one actually picked them up to look at them. The woman, reaching up to water a hanging plant in front of the window, smiled over her shoulder as he walked in. “Welcome in, Ensign. Feel free to sit wherever you want.” She added with a laugh, “I promise it will be painless.”
The choice of seating may surprise him as well. There was a single chair angled in front of the bookshelf to make access to the books and PaDDs there easy. A couch sat before the window, a coffee table in front of it with room to walk around if one wanted to take in the view. There was a table with chairs near the small food dispenser and another large comfortable chair on the end of the coffee table close to the couch.
