On a small world, in a small system, a distress call went out.

“Admiral Acton, sir-“
“This had best be important ensign.”
“Yes sir, it is.”
“Well?”
“There’s been a distress signal, from Eridion sir.”
“Eridion? Where-“
“It’s an abandoned Starfleet exploratory post. Abandoned 70 years ago sir.”
“Who’s available?”
“Most suitable sir? The Memorial.”
“Get me her Captain. And bring me a briefing on Eridion.”

Tralla had been walking around the Pramanade of Starbase 243 looking for a birthday present to send to her daughter Lilith who was living with some friends on Earth she turned to her husband who was walking around with her “Honey would you mind finishing up I need to go find out what’s going on” she said before giving him a soft kiss on the cheek before dashing off

she quickly raced off to find out what the Admiral wanted it had been quite a bit since they had been stationed at 243 on guard duty of course it was not anything they did that earned them this They just happened to be the only ship available to do the job so they had been patrolling and making short-ranged runs still she wondered if the Admiral had an actual mission for her and her ship finally Stepping up to the door to the Admirals office she rang the chime

“Enter.” The door swished open and revealed the Admiral’s large office. He was sitting, facing away from the door, staring out a window into deep space. “Do come in Captain.”
