“Yes ma’am.” BJ went inside the probe and took a look around. He wanted to see what the engineers had seen first. He wasn’t sure who he would need as he needed to understand what he was seeing.

OOC: If you want something you can do, I would suggest following up with the AI about the message that was not immediately translatable. You might want to focus there (it might require a location change) as it could tell you something important about the situation. :) ~Linds, Giver of Hints

Danora was pleased the Chief would be her partner. Besides admiring him as a Security Chief, she also knew his head wouldn’t get so involved in what they were doing that they would get snuck up on if something happened. She smiled to the Chief, already thinking more about the holoprogram than being safe. Though she ‘did’ have the foresight to pause at the doorway and glance at the ceiling as if sure the morphling was going to drop down in front of her. “Guess we’re clear,” she smiled to the XO and the Chief as she stepped into the hall. The temperature difference wasn’t completely discomforting, but certainly noticeable.

“I promise I will try not to go anywhere on my own.” She was sincere in the statement. She would try her best to remember there was still a threat. Another reason the holodeck was a good place to be. She wasn’t likely to wander off from there.

Stepping into the hallway she waited for the Chief to join her.

There didn’t seem to have any more clues in the sphere. If there was; he didn’t have the experience to see it. “Cmdr we should get on that message. I need a couple linguist. I’m good but that’s not a specialty of mine.”

The voice of the ship’s AI floated through the space. =/\=Translation still in progress. There are some syntactic rules that are unusual, coupled with and thus rendering a complete translation difficult at the moment. Would you prefer to hear the incomplete translation or wait for completion?=/\=

Danora turned and tapped out on the console a moment. She glanced at the message and nodded. “Here it is…” she tapped another set of commands and waited for the voice to spit out what it could. Perhaps it would give her a clue to what they were about to do on the holodeck.

Karina stood very still and listened to the message. It was too garbled to really decide what it meant. Her year in Intel had her instincts screaming at her to be still and think. “Maizie down load that partial translation to my PaDD. Then tell me everything we have in the database that references the Ka’aaa.”

Karina took the partial translation and sent copies to Lt Zero and Cpt Sh’Zoarhi. =^=Enger to Sh’Zoarhi and Zero I’m sending you a partial translation of a message. =^=

BJ heard the message. The message was choppy but wasn’t encouraging. “I did hear that right. That whatever this was is dangerous.”

Karina shrugged one shoulder. “That’s what we hear but it’s not the whole message. It’s a logical conclusion to draw, but we need more information. It’s also one side of the story. So we’ll continue to proceed with caution. Can you get any residual readings on the life form from inside the second sphere?”

Danora heard the message and sighed. “Leave it to you, Dani, to open a Pandora’s Box while inside a floating space coffin…”

She murmured under her breath as she sent the message to the requesting party and began to get readings from any location she could about the creature. She checked the readings from the sphere, the ducts where the creature had disappeared and any other location that could give her any type of reading to bolster or counter the other info they had about it. “I’m working on it,” she replied as she tried to get as much data as she could.

OOC: Hey Meli, you already had Danora leave with the CE for the Holodeck where another thread has started. But if you want to stay here now that Jen is gone, then that would work for me too. I’m flexible. ~Linds

BJ wished he had brought his forensics kit along with him. It would give a fair bit more information than just a tricorder. But at this point he only had a tricorder. He scanned the area to see if he could get at minimum some genetic code to find out what the entity might be.

The morphogenic matrix left behind small traces of DNA in the sphere. While Changeling DNA did not distribute the same way as Humanoids did, it could leave a residue on things it touched while in its ‘liquid’ state.
