The moment they arrived in the science lab, Kiama headed straight to the storage locker and got the piece of metal out of stasis. Placing it on one of the lab tables in front of them, she tried to focus completely at the task ahead as it was crucial to find out as much as possible as soon as possible. Yet she also felt her mind wander towards her encounter with K’sang shortly before the staff meeting. She hadn’t had the chance to process yet what had happened and what that meant to her. Let alone how she felt about it. She sighed softly and looked at Faye, trying to still keep her emotions to herself, but feeling her facade beginning to crumble a little. “I suggest we start with finding out how old this piece of metal actually is and then continue from there. What do you think?” she asked.

“Faye was silent for a moment as she set about helping to create a temporary stasis field around the hunk of ship on the table, lest they exposed themselves to radiation more than necessary. “Agreed. Age will tell us a lot. The composition can then be verified and we can probably take a guess at whatkind of Romulan ship it was and check the library for specs. We can get the radiation signature and send it up to the bridge so they can get a faster scan of the surface.”
