As the turbolift doors closed, Shara finally allowed herself to exhale audibly. None of this was supposed to be how it went down. Then again she hadn’t been entirely sure what would happen when she showed up. At least Grayson had been understanding about the conflict of interest and she was grateful the Rear Admiral was going to allow the necessary leeway given Shara’s previous involvement with her daughter’s career (unbeknownst to Faye, of course).Glancing at Cochrane, she couldn’t help but feel the apprehension grow. “Even if we get the outcome we hope for here, this is not going go well for her, even when her name is cleared. You understand that, right?”

Cochrane didn’t look at her, he simply sighed and said “Can we just burn one bridge at a time, Commander? We have enough on our plate just making sure she lives long enough to get to that point.”
The doors slid open and Cochrane mase his way to the doors of Faye’s lab.

“That is what I’m talking about. I’ll say more but not here,” Calloway said keeping her voice low as they walked briskly.
They didn’t have a lot of time before things spun quickly (and potentially) out of control. He’d have the access to get in and she waited for him to enter in the access codes.
Inside the lab, everything was as one wild expect. Clearly Faye hadn’t been in the middle of anything major when she had been summoned, and had locked down everything appropriately. She nodded in approval. Good girl she mused as she moved over the main bank of computers and took a seat. “Believe it or not, I and her father taught Faye most of what she knows about encryption and decryption.” He of course knew of Faye’s background, so that meant he knew Shara’s as well. “But she’s better at it than even I am. I can effectively lock down this lab from accessing other parts of the ship but I think we both don’t want to disable the new set-up. How far do you want me to interfere with her work?” she asked, casting a side glance at Cochrane as her fingers began to move swiftly, accessing the backend of the system with authorization codes that had no problem getting through. that was good! It meant she hadn’t been instructed to lock it down with unknowable programs. One point in their (and Faye’s) Favour.

Making sure the door was secure, he said “I dont want you to interfere at all, actually.. I want to activate power level displays on the nodes… all of them. Do you know Morse Code, Commander?”
