Clearly her reputation preceded her, but at least this time it didn’t seem to cause any immediate animosity. “If you mean Computer Science Lab 2, then yep, that is me. And yes, the lab is locked and accessible by myself or the captain. I’m the ship’s data specialist. I make sure everything coming and going is secure and that the ship’s systems have the best protections they can/ some of my work involved sensitive equipment, hence the locked lab.”

“That’s fine with me, so long as its not a necessary space that needs to be used for dire circumstance I don’t really want to make changes to how the department conducts itself. Making big splashes only promotes resistance and I’d rather not be butting heads with everyone if i dont have to, its bad for research.” The Klingon locked the Targ’s enclosure before turning to Faye. “Do you have any staff you prefer to work in your space? I’d like to review our roster and find how to best compliment my team.”

“Uhh, not really? No one really is allowed in there. We have two labs, so Lab 1 is all yours and the departments.” There was a second point to make and she had to think about how to convey it properly. Faye had no idea how the CSO interacted with people just yet, so there was a lot of guess work involved. “But… just in case it wasn’t very clear, I don’t work in your department, but my work does mean that I use your resources and do occasionally work with others in the department. Same goes for engineering. I’m sort of an entity unto myself and I directly report to the XO.”

“That’s fine, as I stated. I’d rather not change things for the most part, all I request is that if for some reason I needed some of that space. It would have a very good reason attached to it.” He shrugged, “It’s classified as to why, but if it happens. Its coming from above my head.”
