Cochrane walked in ttot he Mess and yelled “Harv! You here?” A voice from the kitchen replied “No, I’m on vacation. Where else would I be?” and Alex laughed. Harv came out if the kitchen and Alex said “Hey. Lt. Calloway just knocked out a project that was truly amazing. Thnk you can get something special whipped up to congratulate her?” Harv thought a second and said “Calloway… Calloway… Oh yeah! Good kid. Yeah, happy to. She coming here?” Cochrane nodded and headed for the door. “Tell her I’ll be back in a minute if she gets here before me. Thanks!” and he left. Harv went back in the kitchen, and a few minutes later the smell of fresh chocolate and raspberries began wafting from the cracked open door.Cochrane, CO
Twenty minutes. Twenty minutes where she could watch the readouts and confirm that if wasn’t a fluke and she wouldn’t be embarrassing herself with a sudden announcement about how it failed. Twenty minutes where her anxiety also spiked slightly even as she was deeply curious about what Cochrane had in mind. He better not go do anything crazy. Low-key. She liked it low-key. Easier for her to keep level. That and her feelings for him certainly hadn’t changed, though she had been exceptionally careful to keep them to herself on duty. Chill out. No one likes a head case, Calloway.
At the eighteen minute mark, she tore herself away from her little lab and made her way up to the Officer’s Mess, knowing that she would be a minute or two late, but also that he (most likely) wasn’t going to be timing her. As the turbolift moved upwards through the ship, Faye drummed her fingertips on her thighs and, briefly, straightened her uniform jacket.
Stepping into the Mess, her eyes hunted for Alex, curious what his mind thought was appropriate for the occasion. Her senses perceived the smell, but she wasn’t entirely sure what the combo of them was. Chocolate for sure. But what was the other?

A voice from the kitchen said “Calloway?” and Harv’s head poked out from the door way. “Skipper said he’d be right back. Go have a seat. I’m almost done. And congratulations on whatever you did. Skipper was impressed!”
