Gwyn looked at Hammor and gave him a pat on the back. “Don’t worry. All you can see in Louisiana is gators.” She said and did not realize that she had used an obvious accent when she said gators. “Along with heat. A lot of heat.”

William grinned at Gwyen, “I’ve only seen them in zoos,” he admitted but I did hear the food there was exqusite,” he said to her glad to learn about about her. The Counselor then nodded symathetically to Hammor, realizing that the had hit a sore subject for his new friend. “I’m sorry. I hope we can one day help to make your home safer for it’s people,” he said sincerely thinking about what kind of project that would. It would be complicated and would take a lot more than just the three of them. But even so he wished he could help. “There are places in London that are rougher than others but I hadn’t experienced that first hand,” he admitted.

Hammor looked up and grinned. “I doubt that would be welcome. Most Orions tend to revel in the seedier side of life. I mean, the whole of Orion economy is based on illicit trade and smuggling. But don’t worry about saving Orion from itself. It’s lasted this long, I doubt anything will change that.” and he took a breath and shook off any negative feelings. He looked at Frazer and said “Gators, huh? What are those?”

“Large reptiles. Huge and strong. They can… They can bite your hand off.” She looked down at her own missing hand replaced by robotics. “They live in swamps. Under the water. I said gators. That’s an abbreviation. Full name is alligator.”

William nodded, “Perhaps if we take Hammor to an Earth Zoo we show him,” he said, “I’ve visited Florida for vacation and I believe they lived there as well,” he said and then pushed away his empty plate. “So in the spirit of getting to knew each other better, what are some of your hobbies when you’re not working? I like to write, and I do swordsmenship myself,” he asked in no hurry to leave.

Hammor said “I play rugby on the holodeck. And I build models. Not the programming the replicator kind, but actual models with pieces and glue. I find it a great way to relax. What about you, Ensign?”

“Video games. From ancient earth. Most I got from earth. I don’t have much to do here other than work.”

William grinned, “I’ve never played the ancient earth video games. I hear they are really hard to play if you like you could show them to me sometimes, William offered to the ensign. Then he looked to Hammar.
“My father loves models the same kind you’re talking about. And I’ve never played Rugby before but I’m not so old as I can’t learn a new trick or two,” William said joyfully glad to have met two new friends.

Daggum looked at both dining companions and said “Always happy to teach either one, and learn new things as well.” and he looked at Frazer. “And I love the old Earth games. We played them on the ship I worked on after… um… well, after I left Orion.”

“I have some on ship I could show. They get hard sometimes.” She said and looked at Hammor. “Models? Sounds nice. A very good hobby to pass some time.”

“I have a bunch. You’re welcome to swing by and take a look, either of you. I just started on a model of the Manhattan, actually. Laid the hull and deck plating last night.”
