Alex looked around and said “Like what you’ve done with place… ‘Early Cramped Quarters On A Remote Vessel’, I believe they call it.” and he chuckled and smiled at her. “One of my favorite interior designs, well done.” and he looked around and said “So, hostess, where you have me sitting? I’d hate to spoil the seating chart.”

Faye grinned and gestured widely. “Oh, anywhere. I’m not that fussy. Though depending on when Max and Jasmine get here, we might have a bit to wait.”

Moving over to her little makeshift prep area, Faye picked up the chef’s knife and turned to face him. “Though if you want to open that wine and need a corkscrew, you may want to replicate one. And, um, some glasses for everyone. I didn’t even think about it,” she commented, before realizing she was gesturing slightly with the knife, which (especially given that it was here), could have a slightly menacing sort of vibe. “I was just going to do a bit more prep for the toppings.”

Alex went to the replicator and retrieved the needed items, then opened the wine. As he did, he glanced at Faye. “So… how are you doing, Faye? With everything?” he asked. There was a lot going on, and the two of them hadnt spoken alone in quite some time.

Faye paused mid-slice and looked over her shoulder at him. She considered the question and shrugged. “Okay, I guess. You’ll be glad to know that the repairs to the jefferies tube were done in record time and the final hardware installation is all done.” She continued slicing thin strips of the sweet pepper. “I’m still running some simulations, but should be ready to bring everything online in 36 hours.” That wasn’t what he had asked, and she knew it. Still, she figured she’d get the ‘work’ out of the way while there was an appropriate moment.
