USS Manhattan

Event Horizon Station: Ensign Finn Wolf.

Posted by Ensign Finn Wolf (Security Officer) in Event Horizon Station: Ensign Finn Wolf.
As Event Horizon Station slowly turned in its axis, a non-descript Starfleet officer could be found staring out of a viewport of one of the bases lounges. He sipped on a mixture of pineapple juice and sparkling water. Brown hair cut short with a soft muscular build.

Finn Wolf was awaiting a transport to his new duty station. It was first since reenlisting a month previous. He had his choice of assignments, and he chose a ship going to the Delta Quadrant. It didn’t make sense to his family, who would not see him for months. It didn’t make sense to his friends, but he didn’t see them much anyway. No matter what anyone else thought, he had his reasons for wanting to disappear.

Wolf finished his drink and crossed towards the bar. He had been given a phrase by an enlisted petty officer. That phrase, he hoped, would gain him access to another part of the station. When he caught the bartender’s attention, “Do the owls always coming out at night?” The bartender didn’t look at him directly but answered, “Turbolift four. Deck 19, Room 1914.”

Wolf walked out of the lounge slowly and found his way to turbolift four. He indicated deck 19 and soon found room 1914. He chimed the door. When it opened a large Bolian appeared in the doorway. “Do the owls always come out at night?” The Bolian nodded and stepped to the side allowing Wolf to enter. “To your left.” Wolf found himself in a dimly lit room with a central beam of light over a round table. Several people could be seen sitting at the table playing a card game.

Wolf cracked a sly smile as he thought, ‘Time to make some money.’

Ensign Wolf, Sec JO.
USS Manhattan.

The next morning came early for Finn. Earlier than he had thought having played through the night. He went to his temporary quarters and took a quick shower to freshen up. Putting on his gold uniform he noticed a stack of credits and some latinum that were not there earlier. Seems his night was productive at least even if he cannot remember much of it.

Finn collected his winnings and stashed them deep into his service duffle bag. It was time to report for duty and he had a transport to catch. He walked to the docking ports and found the transport that would take him the Manhattan. He checked in with the transport agent and showed her his transfer orders. Soon the civilian transport was making good time towards the rendezvous point. The shuttle was sparsely occupied with only two other crewnen. Both were enlisted personnel assigned to different parts of the ship.

Finn took this opportunity to catch up on his sleep.
