Ben strolled down the corridor toward the holodeck, having finished his shift for the day. Having managed to take a shower, he was now dressed in a clean set of uniform. He had wondered whether he should have dressed in civilian attire, but he still expected to do some security drills, even if he was sure that wasn’t the pretext that neither he nor Eilab had in mind.

As he approaches the holodeck, the door hissed opened and Ben stepped inside.

The holodeck had been made into a large gym with weight, equipment, and most importantly, wrestling mats. It was well lit, but the lighting was soft, not bright white.

In the middle of the mats was Eilah, doing warm up exercises, and he was definitely not in uniform. Instead, he wore civilian active wear that was, well, very flattering. Tight fitting, but not enough to be tacky, and accentuating in flattering ways.

When he heard the door open, he stopped what he was doing, turned, and smiled. “Ben! You’re right on time.”

Ben smiled. Whilst he inwardly grimaced at being in uniform, he was secretly glad he had gone for uniform - he preferred his active wear more comfortable than flattering, and he pulled off the uniform looked well, or at least he thought.

“It is comfortable,” Eilah said, reading Ben’s thoughts with ease. He didn’t even particularly intend to, but that was the trouble with telepathy sometimes.

“I see you don’t skip leg day,” Ben said, with a chuckle as he his eyes darted over Eilah, admiring the view.

Eilah laughed and smiled. “Admire all you like, it’s a great ego boost,” he said and laughed again. “I wasn’t sure whether to go in uniform or not either,” he said, “but it really doesn’t matter either way.”

Ben grinned. “It’s going to take me a while to get used to you being able to rummage around in here,” he said, tapping his head.

Eilah smiled sheepishly, almost shyly. “Sorry. My abilities are pretty strong. It’s hard not to overhear.”

Ben nodded, realising that rummage was perhaps the wrong word.

“Don’t worry about it,” he said with a smile. “As for the uniform… well at least I know for next time to go for something casual.” He continued.

Eilah grinned that charming smile of his. “Well, honestly, you’d be equally charming in a dashing suit or a russet sack.” He said. He smiled, “So, let’s do your warm up stretches.”
