They were docking at Event Horizon. It was a massive space station on this side of the worm hole. Even after all this time it was still under construction. Shedda wondered if it would ever actually be done. Being at Event Horizon meant Leave for everyone. What tended to happen though was that the DHs and shift leads cut their own leaves short to give others extra time. They would be here three weeks. So there was no reason for anyone to cut their time short.

On top of leave, there was also the supply deliveries. So with both those in mind, Shedda made her way through the ship to check in with people. Right now she was looking for Lt. Hudson. =/\=Computer, Location of Lt Hudson?=/\=

Shedding paused. There were hunts of rumors about the COS and CMO spending quite a bit of time together. It could also be an official medical visit. Either way Shedda was not inclined to just randomly badge in. =/\=Mal’athar to Hudson. Are you available?=/\=

A few seconds past before Ben’s voice came over the comms channel.

=^= Yes Commander. Shall I meet you in Sickbay? =^=

=/\=Yes that will be fine. Thank you Lt.=/\= Shedda turned and headed toward the lift and took it to deck 2. She entered sickbay and let the nurse know she was waiting for Lt. Hudson to arrive.

A few minutes later, Ben entered sickbay and glanced around.

“Ah, Commander,” he said, as he walked across. “Sorry I’m a bit late,” he continued. Whilst he was later than he ought to have been walking from the quarters to sickbay, he was still immaculately dressed.

“That’s no problem, Lt.,” Shedda smiled and held up her PaDD. “I just wanted to go over the duty rosters and supply requests before everyone takes off for leave.”

“Yes, certainly.” Ben said, smiling, almost a little bit too chipper. “I’m assuming we’re running a skeleton crew whilst we have a bit of time for err… ‘shore’ leave,” he said, not sure what to call it seeing they weren’t going to get chance to get on to a planet. But it was still a lot better than cooped up on board the Manhattan. He also wondered whether he would bump into Mark; they never had had chance to get a drink together.

Mal’athar nodded. “Skeleton crew, and when the repair and engineering teams enter for upgrades and such, sickbay will be closed. So we’ll need a small nursing station set up. Empty guest quarters can be used if need be, but otherwise everything should be diverted to Event Horizon medical.”

Ben nodded. “We’ll make the necessary arrangements. Most of the crew should be off ship, so hopefully there won’t be too much draw on the make shift nursing bay,” he said, making some notes on a PaDD. He picked up a second PaDD from his desk.

“Here are the supplies I’ve requested from Event Horizon. Nothing too much, but enough to allow us for a 12 month mission without needing to resupply.”

Shedda took the PaDD and transferred the list to her own. “Those are schedule to arrive…” she scanned down her schedule, “in five days. Who do you want to do the inventory checks for that?”

“Ahh, perfect.” Ben said with a smile. “I’ll get the medical staff covering the nursing bay to do the inventory checks. We’ll run two person shifts, just in case there are any emergencies, but that will give us some slack to do some of the managerial stuff. It’s also a good development opportunity for some of the more junior crew.”

“Excellent. I’ll make sure whomever is in charge checks in with them. I will also make sure ops knows to send emergencies to the nurse or the station. Is there anything else you need or want help with?”

“If you could make sure Commander Fayth actually takes some shore leave, that would be great.” Ben said, pausing. “His medical records show he’s a bit leave-shy.”
