They were docking at Event Horizon. It was a massive space station on this side of the worm hole. Even after all this time it was still under construction. Shedda wondered if it would ever actually be done. Being at Event Horizon meant Leave for everyone. What tended to happen though was that the DHs and shift leads cut their own leaves short to give others extra time. They would be here three weeks. So there was no reason for anyone to cut their time short.

On top of leave, there was also the supply deliveries. So with both those in mind, Shedda made her way through the ship to check in with people. Right now she was looking for Lt. Kaia. =/\=Computer, Location of Lt Kaia?=/\=

There was a longer than usual pause before the Computer responded. =/\= Lt. Kaia is on Deck Fou-Deck Five. =/\=

Shedda smiled slightly. Kaia must be moving through the tunnels. The XO moved to a lift and got off on deck 5. She queried the computer as to the section until she found the CE. “Lt. Kaia?”

Kaia popped her head out of the ceiling. “Hello, Commander! What’s up?”

Shedda looked up with a grin. She liked the chief engineer and her always friendly demeanor. “Hello Lt. I just wanted to go over the repair detail and skeleton crew schedules while we’re docked.”

“I think I can clear up my schedule,” Kaia said, grinning back at Shedda. She ducked back into the ceiling, there was the sound of tools clattering together, then she dropped to the floor, landing gracefully as only a feline can do. “I was just finishing up that repair. Should we walk and talk, or wait until we get back to one of our offices?”

“We can walk and talk. I know everyone is ready to get leave started.” Shedda handed Kaia the PaDD she was carrying. “Here is the list of repairs and upgrades the station sent over.”

Kaia took the PaDD and read it while she walked. “Ah, I see they actually read the reports I submitted, and took my requests into consideration,” She nodded, pleased with the situation. “Ooh, we’re getting an upgrade to that? NE Grant has been complaining about inefficiencies in the power conduits, she’ll be pleased.”

Shedda grinned over Kaia’s enthusiasm. Promoting her to chief engineer had been the best choice they had made. “Good, I’m glad they are actually reading all those reports we have to send in. Who will be in charge over over seeing the repairs for each leave rotation?”

“I made a schedule and rotation for the Engineering Team,” Kaia tapped on her U.R.I. a few times, uploading the schedule to Shedda’s PaDD and handing it back to the woman. She’d put her most responsible and trustworthy engineers in charge, in teams of two so they wouldn’t be too overwhelmed by the managerial tasks of overseeing Spacedock Engineers. Kaia knew to appreciate Spacedock, but never trust them without supervision.
