They were docking at Event Horizon. It was a massive space station on this side of the worm hole. Even after all this time it was still under construction. Shedda wondered if it would ever actually be done. Being at Event Horizon meant Leave for everyone. What tended to happen though was that the DHs and shift leads cut their own leaves short to give others extra time. They would be here three weeks. So there was no reason for anyone to cut their time short.

On top of leave, there was also the supply deliveries. So with both those in mind, Shedda made her way through the ship to check in with people. Right now she was looking for Cmdr. Flynn. =/\=Computer, Location of Lt Cmdr Flynn?=/\=

“Lieutenant Commander Flynn is in the Stellar Cartography lab,” the computer replied.

Shedda made her way out of her office and down to deck 7. The ship was busy, but she was glad to see the anticipation from those she passed. Hurrying to get things done to be ready for restock, refit, and leave time. There was an air of released tension from the crew and she was glad to see it. She paused at the door to stellar cartography to make sure that there wasn’t any light sensitive experiments going on before she went inside.

The door opened for her without as much as a button press - obviously there was nothing critical going on. Arthur was sat in a chair at the far side of the room, staring up into a holographic starscape, to the sides of which a stream of data scrolled. His attention shifted ever so slightly at her entrance, but without much motion or change in his behavior. “Commander,” he greeted distractedly. “How can I help?”

“I have the incoming list for the supplies ordered for you to go over. And I want to go over the shift rotation and leads for while everyone is on leave,” Mal’athar said stepping into the lab. She stopped part way in and stared up at the holographic display. Stellar cartography was not her area of expertise but there was something mystical about it. “What are you contemplating?”

“Just watching the results of the last experiment,” Arthur said. “I’ve been asked to spend a semester as a guest lecturer back at Starfleet Academy - thought I’d bring some real-world data with me.”

Shedda nodded, “Always more enlightening than theory. Or at least I thought so when I was a cadet. So, you will be leaving us for awhile? Anyone in mind to fill in while you enlightening the minds of eager young cadets?”
