Ben was rather tired. It had been a late night before, supporting the Songz family, and his body clock had woken him up punctually at 0600. Whilst a quick run around some of the lower decks had helped wake him up, he could tell throughout the day that he wasn’t on top form. Twelve hours later, he stepped through the doors into the Ship’s Lounge, fancying a stiff drink and a hot meal from the replicator.“A double whisky, Speyside single malt.” he ordered from the bar, as he flicked through his PaDD for inspiration for his dinner. He paused scrolling as his eyes fell on something quite simple, but very appealing. Moving over to the replicator, he pressed a few buttons, before a plate of steaming mash potato with sausages and peas materialised. He smiled at the sight of what he would describe as ‘comfort food’.

Chief Medical OfficerA short while later, an equally weary Sal Songz wandered into the lounge. He had slept for awhile and then had spent some time with Koro and Sair, and felt the need to be anywhere that wasn’t the quarters he had shared with Kel. Yes, it hurt that she was gone, and that space she left in his life felt vast, but he had benen honest earlier that they had done all they could to prepare themselves for this moment. What he hadn’t known was how aimless he’d feel right now.
Dressed in a grey tunic and black wide legged trousers, the elder Kobliad looked around the space and spotted Doctor Hudson. He smiled and wandered over. “Hello, Doctor. I hope I’m not interrupting. I just wanted to thank you for all your support. It made things… easier.”

“Mr Songz,” Ben said, standing up from his seat. “Thank you, that means a lot. I know it’s never easy, so I am glad that I was able to support you and your family. Please, feel free to join me, if you don’t mind me eating,” he said, indicating to one of the chairs that were at the table.

Chief Medical Officer“Not at all,” Sal said. “I might grab something myself, though I can’t say I’m particularly hungry.” He settled into the chair and gazed at Hudson. “And please, call me Sal. I am not much for formalities.”
Ben nodded. “In that case, please call me Ben.” He replied, with a soft smile.
“Any suggestions for food? I was going to order some soup, and I’ve had a chance to try things that aren’t from Kobliad, but I will admit that there are so many options that its daunting.”

Well, if you’re after a bit of comfort food, I’d either go with cream of tomato or chicken soup; I find them ever so restorative,” he suggested. If you’re after more of a main meal, then I can throughly recommend ‘bangers and mash’” he continued, gesturing to his plate of food.
