It was almost 0300 hours when Sair stepped into her quarters. Given how tired Koro was, she wasn’t surprised to not see him there and assumed Shedda had managed to get him into bed without him fully waking up. Still, she came in quietly not wanting to startle Shedda if she had (hopefully) fallen asleep given the later hour.

Shedda was sitting on the couch, a micro-PaDD in hand, she looked up as the doors opened. She stood and walked over to Sair and simply hugged her.

Sair wrapped her arms around Shedda and just let herself be embraced. Her mind was strangely clear, but maybe it was much the same as her father where she had had time to work herself up to this. Maybe. The coming days would be more telling.

Shedda simply hugged her for however long Sair needed. It might have been expected, but that didn’t make it easier.

When she pulled back, she wore sadness on her face but there were no tears. “How’s he been? Has he slept?” she said softly.

“He was asleep by the time we got back. I just took his shoes off and tucked him in. I didn’t want to wake him. He’s made some noise a few times, but never woke up.”
