Anna smiled. “Prizar. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that. Or seen one. You’ll have to show me some time. Do you think it would lend itself to a jam session with me at the piano?”

Sair nodded with a strange mixture of excitement and apprehension. She had played with Alex, but no one outside of her family had heard her play thus far. “It’s a twenty-one string instrument that is similar to Earth zithers and is played with plectra or bare-fingered. It can be quite complimentary to a piano.”

Anna nodded slowly, possibilities stumbling all over each other in her head. “So it’s made primarily for microtonal music, then? That might be a challenge.”

Sair pondered this and bobbed her head. “Well, not quite. It is tuned to a major pentatonic scale but with semi-tones. It can include microtonal aspect through slides and tremolos, but it’s quite versatile. I’ve recently played alongside a cello, if that helps for understanding?” She knew and understood what a piano was and had heard a variety of music in her time away from Kobliad, but not having played it herself, she wasn’t sure if she was missing important knowledge about the instrument.
