Sair grinned. She thought it interesting and telling that Devin responded to her question by talking about the people and not necessarily the work itself. “Well, I can’t speak to the practical joke possibilities on this ship, as I’ve not seen it so far myself. The Manhattan has a dedicated crew but I wouldn’t say that as a whole it’s too serious. I think it very much depends on your department and the people you are around.’
“What about being here? Investigations might only be a part of the job. What do you hope to get out of your time here?”

Devin grinned cheekily as she looked at the counselor, “I am hoping to find someone that might enjoy joining me for some parkour if nothing else.” She wasn’t going to start off a prank war yet. Devin wanted to settle in properly get a feel for how folks might react before she tried kicking off some light pranks.Something along the lines of glitter balloons or something was her most idle idea but she had others she could try and pull off once she had a better idea of folks personalities and likely sense of humor. She was not about to disrupt a meeting with a mischief of rats unless she was absolutely certain she wasn’t going to be caught. Devin had only done that once on her first assignment (she wasn’t caught, she had been extremely careful with the timing, and everything) no one had been fingered for it, and while it was never said aloud she was certain that the Command staff had narrowed it down to the recent graduates from the academy, including herself, but there was no hard evidence to be certain. It had been quite the surprise to learn that the Chief of Sciences was extremely interested in rats and had enjoyed catching them and rounding them up. It wasn’t until later that Devin learned that the Chief Science officer had turned the whole mischief into personal pets that ran through their quarters in a specially designed habitat.
What she really wanted though was to be able to just be herself both person and cat with a trusted friend. Devin couldn’t exactly say that out loud though, some rules she wasn’t breaking at least not without a REALLY good reason.

Sair couldn’t help but chuckle. “Well, I have to admit I don’t know what parkour is, but there are a lot of people on board with a variety of interests.” She was curious though, and always interested in her learning new things. It was why she had returned to the Exchange Program and how she ended up on the Manhattan.
“You seem to have no trouble with the idea of being social. How do you see yourself settling in here on the ship, outside of duty?”
~Sair Songz, CNS
“Parkour is basically running or jogging and climbing up the surroundings to make it more interesting in short anyway. It’s great exercise and fun in my opinion. I also like gymnastics but not as many enjoy that as companion sharing time.” she gave a soft shrug, “I honestly don’t know I will just have to see how it goes. I can adapt as needed.” she added with a cheekily playful grin.

The description of parkour intrigued her, and she for sure could say that Kobliads did not have an activity like that. “I think the closest thing my people have to that is mountaineering,” Sair said with a grin. “I’m pretty sure they are nothing alike, but I have to admit you have me curious.”
“Any challenges you’re anticipating? I know you’ve been through this transition on more than a few occasions.” Some people knew what the issues would be before they even got to a their new assignment and it actually made a good scenario. You could guard against something if you knew about it in advance.

“Getting used to the ship this is honestly the largest ship I have been assigned too thus far.” she gave a cheeky grin, “Yes each transfer was a new adventure in itself.” she knew some folks raised eye brows about that but she didn’t mind. It meant that the folks she was serving with felt it was better to send her elsewhere. It was always a challenge to learn the new layout, the new places were it was great for parkour through the corridors when there was nothing going on, or the gym when there was a gym that had space for a gynmastics and parkour set up. The few that had room for arboretums where her favorite places because when there were actual trees flowers and other plants, she could spend hours just exploring the arboretum when off duty. The few that had holo-deck technology allotted was a new experience and fun too. “Not sure who my roommate will be but as long as they leave my side alone, I’ll be happy.” She had gotten stuck with folks that were messy, some who were OCD, and some who where more chaotic than she was in their decoration style.

Security officerSongz nodded. “As you get settled, you’ll find there’s lots to do when you off duty. We have a really lovely Lounge, and there’s an officer’s mess. We have holodecks and holosuites, and my son’s favourite place is the Garden on Deck 4. Our former data specialist designed it and it’s amazing. There are raised beds for the crew to grow their own food and flowers, a pond, a tropical glass house and even a hill with a stream running down it.” It was her favourite place as well, when she wasn’t using the holodeck program Alex had shared with her.

Devin’s smile turned delighted to the point of showing off her dimples, “A garden, are there any trees?” though even checking out the flowers and the pond was going to be wonderful in her opinion. The holo-decks and holo-suites were going to be worth checking out when she had down time as well but a real garden to explore yeah she was going to spend time there as soon as she was finished settling in and after duty was done.
